Kingdom Hearts: Alternative Paths(Invite Only!)

[Shadows Fall]

Slowly drifting down... surrounded by what appeared to be water. Descending towards a stained glass platform, your own two feet had finally set themselves on it. A group of birds were startled, flying away as their reaction and revealed an image on the platform. As you stand there a mysterious voice rang in your head.

"Follow your heart..."

The words repeated itself over and over again before speaking once again. "The Keyblade will soon be yours... use it for the sake of good... or for the sake of evil..." Within seconds a strange looking weapon which looked like a cross between a key and a sword appeared in your hand like magic. Soon the sight of shadows rising up from the floor was scene and at the moment, you wake up from the dream.

Destiny Islands...

A place where young teens go to get away from adults and enjoy the peaceful setting the island had to offer. It was the perfect place to blow off some steam as well as letting all of your worries drift away. The most visited part of the island, however, would be the Secret Cave. Its walls were full of drawings that the teens had carved with various pieces of rocks. But... the cave had a reputation of its own, as well as a mystery behind it.

Deep within the cave lied a door with no door knob. It was just there and it showed no ways of opening it. But why was a door just lying there? What was beyond that door? Was there even a way to open it? If so, how? So many questions were left unanswered....

However, this wasn't the only thing that was being talked about among the teens who played on the islands. A certain group of teens recalled having dozens of weird dreams lately, yet they can't explain it. What they didn't know was the dreams were connected to a bunch of events that will soon change their lives.

"What if a whole different cast had been on the island when their world was destroyed, and Sora, Riku and Kairi had never set foot on Destiny Islands. Or what if they never existed in the first place? Would the same had happened?

What if in the beginning two identical Keyblades were given to two people with strong hearts. One person, set for the path of destruction while the other set for a helpful path and led a group of key-wielders across the worlds. Would the destructive one seek out to destroy the worlds while crossing paths with the peaceful Keyblader? Would the peaceful one meddle too much? Would they split apart because of ethics? I guess it's up to you to decide..."

Twilight Citadel: Twilight town's mansion, before it became run-down. It was the basis of twilight town. A large decrepit spire in the back is where we end up. It seemingly is hidden by tall and old trees. It seems to reach the sky, as it peaks from the woods. All of us on the top level. We eventually form bonds, and figure out how to use the keyblade to open the locked doors before us(two different rooms, one can be the light team, and the other the dark. Or just mixed). We search the huge palace, Then we go to the town, and a mysterious man stops us. One team is teleported to Traverse Town. The other stays there, mystified. Either team could be the one who stays.

Alternative Earth - Manhattan: The city has been deserted; swept away by the heartless. The surviving human populace of this world live in Anti-Heartless cities that have barriers around them.

Hirferta: A feudal war-ravaged world, called Hiferta, the undead roam freely. The heartless is just a minor annoyance to them... for now. The capital is Keriston, a large; fortified city, with many trained paladins, and warriors meant to kill undead. The trees and most land around it are charred, and sickly. There is a slight smog around these areas, which are breeding grounds for more undead. Be cautious there.

- A world of twisted fairy tales, accessed by a book. Hansel and Gretel, Robin Hood, and King Arthur are the only ones available at the time.

Light's Refuge: A important place for all of those who love, and cherish the light. This is a world unknown to all but those virtuous of heart. But those of corruption can easily trick their way into there if they are talented enough. Everyone there seems to care about others, and most of the populace are healers, or holy men. Everyone there is almost too friendly for comfort, and almost nothing can be done without them knowing. The strange thing though is that they do not care about the state of other worlds. The heartless is a major threat to them, but it is covered up by officials to the main populace.

City of the Shadows: This horrid place is for those attuned to darkness, for they are the only ones who can truly appreciate the twisted structures, and strange markings along the street. Mindless drunks walk around, and the police are brutal, not caring about anything but their own personal gain. A kingpin controls the city; and he was the one who attracted the heartless. No one cares if those of light are there though. They don 't care about anything.

Restaurant at the End of the Universe: A restaurant that is at the end of time, and the universe, enveloped in a time bubble, that allows you to watch the galaxy around you explode. It is very expensive, and you can get back to the normal time via time warp. It's all very simple really.

Refuge of Heroes: A place where valiant warriors take rest, and eat well. They seemingly regain all health, and strength as they enter. Most who leave even say they feel stronger after. It takes form as a tavern. They go to here befoer the end. No heartless can ever enter.

City of Heroes: A city filled with all the heroes of legend, from comics to movies. No hero is left from this world. Marvel to DC. Even Manga.

Gender: Male

Personality: Since he is mute and has nothing but silence, but that doesn't stop him from overcoming his own demons and obstacles along his way. When depressed, he finds time to be alone and recollect himself and tries to assess his well-being. He is sometimes numb to his surroundings and often absent-minded. He is stoic in all times and very calm even in his darkest hour.

Heart: consumed by Darkness. But his powerful will enables him to bend the darkness anyway he pleases.

Keyblade: Thanatos

History: Born as a mute kid in his own world, he dreamt all of his life that he could speak at least a hum. He also possess a unique ability that no one could ever imagine, that is the ability to control shadows and has a very powerful willpower. Growing up as a child was never easy for him, he grew up alone without any parents to guide him. Having no true home, he wandered the whole multiverse via shadow portals, hoping that he could finally find his true home.

As a wandering ronin, he encountered and battled with the darkness in his whole life after finally being devoured by him. But instead of the darkness coming over him and taking over his whole well-being, the darkness itself accepted him as it's manipulator and master. That's when his keyblade was born. No one knows if he is in the side of evil or good or both. He is neither at the path of dawn nor twilight.

Personality: Confident, cool, caring, and adventurous. Sometimes Syra makes foolish decisions, but he is always prepared to face the consequences and figure out a way to fix things. He is committed to his friends, and they look up to him. Syra is sometimes stubborn and loses his temper, causing people to back away from him. But otherwise he is well respected and admired.

Personality: She is both kind and honest, a girl that anyone who like to have as their best friend. In the face of danger, she is both brave and bold, yet refusing to give up all the while.

Heart: Her heart was born of light, but there is a deep hidden darkness yet to be revealed.
Keyblade: Lionheart
History: Faith Crest came from the world of Hollow Bastion, one of the most dangerous worlds infested with Heartless. She lived a life of luxury until her parents were brutally murdered at Ansem's command in an attempt to find one of the seven princesses of heart. She was escorted to Destiny Islands with one of her parents' closest friends, but he left her there to forget her past life and this only led her to believe that she had lived on Destiny Islands all her life. Unknown to her, Ansem still relentlessly searched for her, but Destiny Islands was the safest place for her.

There is a mystery surrounding her heart, however. According to one of Hollow Bastion's smartest top scientists, he believed that her heart harboured so much light due to her personality. Yet it hid some darkness related to genes in her past relatives in the family. But for now, the light hides the darkness in her heart. So oblivious to what her power her heart has, Faith lives life to the full on Destiny Islands. She helps the people on the islands, whilst speaking little about herself. It seems that she is interested in more about others than herself. She dares not to question her origins considering how little she knows. But the dreams she has been experiencing lately in her sleep do haunt her and she now questions about herself and the dark future that she sees.

Name: Adrian Lucius

Gender: Male

Personality: Care-free and adventurous, Adrian seems to live life to its full potential. When it comes to the safety of his friends, he has no problem with dealing with whatever decides to threaten them no matter what it is. There are times where the teen would barely think about his maneuvers, jumping straight into the action but that was only because he liked to take risks even if it the situation is dangerous and could harm him in any way.

Attire: Adrian wears a black t-shirt with a red zombie hand on the front. His hands are kept warm by a pair of black fingerless gloves which he wears no matter how the weather is. Around his mid section is two belts which are worn so that they criss-cross one another. Lastly he wears a pair of black denim shorts which goes past his knees just a bit along with a pair of black sneakers, the soles being gray and the letters "DC" are written on the sides of them.

Keyblade: Shadow's Requiem

History: Just like the rest of his friends, Adrian was born and raised on the islands in what he calls "Paradise". He never really knew his father, well he didn't even know if he was ever around at all considering he grew up with just his mother. All his life, he was told that one day his father went out, sailing off into the ocean and then... he just disappeared. All though the unknown identity of his father bugged him a bit, Adrian decided not to let that get in the way when it came to spending the day with his friends which is what he mostly did. The "Secret Place" was practically the breathing ground for his creativity, the cave where Adrian let his mind run free and filled the cave walls with imagery simply with a rock. This was just only one of the things he loved about the island.

The second? Well, that would be the beautiful view of the sun setting off in the distance. For some reason, Adrian just loved watching it as it never got old even with each day that passed. Just something about it grabbed his attention and yet, he didn't even know what it was. However, he began to have this really bad feeling, like something bad was making its way towards the island. This occurred after a dream he had:

Adrian stood on a stained glass platform, surrounded by nothing but pitch black. A batch of shadow-like creatures began to rise up from the floor, their smalls black bodies and antennas twitched as their small yellow eyes gazed at him. "Wh-what's going on?" he asked aloud, backing away from the creatures. Suddenly, an essence of light began to gather within the palm of his hand, forming in what appeared to be a weapon of some sort. Except this weapon was unique not just by its key/sword model in a way but Adrian could feel a strong sense of strength coming from the blade. Then, the shadows lunged towards the boy all at the same time and afterwards, the dream would just end.

Ever since then, Adrian wondered what his dream could mean. Even if he didn't understand it, he still couldn't escape the feeling he's been having lately, hoping that everything will remain the way they were now. But how long would that last?

Personality: Ayame is quiet at first, but once she gets comfortable around of her surroundings and the people around her, then she starts showing her true self. She's calm about everything and is aways willing to make new friends. She enjoys helping people and curing the injured people, good or bad.

Keyblade: Oblivion and Oathkeeper

History: Ayayme lived a normal and a happy life until everything taken away from her from the age of 10. Ever since then, she's been living with her grandparents but wasn't feeling any happier with them. Then, her grandfather gave her two keyblades; the Oblivion and the Oathkeeper. With these two keyblades, she started training herself each and everyday to make herself stronger, and to be strong enough to get revenge on those that took everything away from her.

Ever since she had the thoughts about having revenge, she only thought about what was right and wrong in her idea. She never thought that whatever everyone said was right, was necessarily right for her. Then, she knew that she was neither on the good side or the dark side.

Personality: Trinity always finds herself in the worst possible positions but she is always optimistic about everything. She is down to earth girl who cares about everyone and everything. Hers soul belongs to light which makes her more caring and darkness does exist but doesn’t come out a lot. She tries to keep to herself even though she listens to what everyone says but she will never say what she has on her mind.

Keyblade: The Angel Light

History: Trinity has lived on Destiny Island for many years and loves being around the other children. It was her choice whether or not to leave her home and she did. Her family life was perfectly average but she always wanted more. She believed that her family wouldn't miss her and that she would become a figment of their imagination. Her heart was a weak one but ever since she lived on Destiny Island, she has become stronger and she has also forgotten about her family. Her friends are the children who run around on the Island and her family are the voices that remain in her head. A few years ago, she met up with some mysterious men and now she keeps in contact with them and they visit her every now an then. As her life goes on, she continues to grow and become more interested in the powers of others.

As of everyday activities, Trinity finds herself on the beach training for whatever is to come. Lately she has been having these weird dreams about a creature that feeds off of the darkness. She has told herself that they are just dreams but they still haunt her. She wakes up early and goes to sleep late. Not many people have seen her since she started having these dreams. She lives on the far end of the island which is in walking distance to the well populated area of Destiny Island.

OOC: Well, we have most of the invites here so I'm going to go ahead and start.

Chaos. Destruction. Destiny Islands was falling apart slowly, being taken over by swarm of shadow-like creatures. Adrian just stood on the shore, his eyes widening as his witness the destruction of the island at first hand. The ground began to shake violently as his attention was suddenly grabbed by a large being that risen up from the once-clear blue ocean. It was completely black from head to toe, almost like a shadow. Its stomach had a large gaping hole which was in the shape of a heart, giving the thought that this behemoth was heartless which ironically, it was. Its sets of golden-glowing eyes laid upon the petrified teen, raising one of its claws and swiped it towards him and at that very moment, there was a flash of light...

"Gah!" Adrian yelped, jumping out of bed and ended up falling to the floor, his bed covers wrapping around him as he fell. "Ow..." he muttered as he pulled the cover off and sat up, relieved at the fact that the event was only a dream, well more like a nightmare. Hopping back into bed Adrian pushed open the window of his room, seeing that the island was nice and safe. "Just a dream." he whispered underneath his breath, wondering what his friends were up to today, even though it'll most likely be the same everyday.

Trinity looked around her small tree house as she laid in her bed, not asleep. She hadn't slept all night and it was beginning to annoy her that these terrible nightmares were interrupting her sleep. She pushed back her hair from her face while she sat up in her bed and closed her eyes for an instant. Those creatures... are they what those people were talking about? Why are they destroying our homes? She thought to herself as she got out of bed and walked outside. The waves crashed onto the shore and she walked towards the water as the breeze caught her hair. She folded her arms together and looked out along the horizon. "What are you going to do?" She heard her own voice say as the image of a man appeared in her mind. "I don't want anyone to be hurt... I must fight these heartless." He said to answer her question and then he just walked away, disappearing into the darkness. He had visited her a few times but she never really asked him his name. Her mind was filled with thoughts and memories of him and these so called 'Heartless.' She looked towards the direction of the main area of the island and wondered how everyone was doing. She grinned as she thought about the kids who came and saw her just last week. They brought her a few weeds and flowers. Wishing her to get better.

Trinity made her way back into her house and put on a new outfit. She slowly walked through the forest of palm trees and past a waterfall that alot of the children play in. It was too early of course to see anyone up and going. She stood on top of a cliff, looking down at all the little huts and boats tied to the docks. She climbed down the cliff and walked through the little 'town' and smiled. Many of her friends were sleeping in the huts but she wasn't staying long. She grabbed some rope and then a few coconuts and walked back towards the ocean. This was the best view of the ocean. She had alot of memories here, in this exact place. She breathed in, letting her breath out slowly and smiled as the sun began to come up.

Ayame sat on her bed as she looked out the window. The waves were calm and the wind was blowing slowly in her room. Her room was filled with the cool breeze of the wind and the smell of salt water from the clear-blue ocean. She got up and decided to take a walk on the beach to clear her mind. Walking on the beach, she felt the cool water, splashing against her feet and the soft sand she was walking on.

"That dream...I must be the only one who's having it. But why," she thought to herself.
"Might as well just forget about it. It's not going to help just thinking about it and stressing about it anyways," she said to herself.

As Ayame continued walking, she saw the small huts with everyone sleeping the night away. She wished that she could sleep just as peacefully as they could without having those nightmares every night.

After taking the time to get dressed along with cleaning up his bedroom a bit, Adrian had bolted out the door and straight to his usual hangout. If you hadn't guessed by his artistic ways then it was obvious that he was heading straight for the "Secret Place" which really wasn't much of a secret considering most of the children that were on the island already knew about it. Kneeling down a bit, Adrian picked up the nearest rock he could find and began to scratch away at the cave walls which were already filled with various drawings by the other children. His, however, seem to stand out more considering they looked to be strange looking worlds you would see in a dream or something.

Unlike his last drawing which was what appeared to be a jack-lantern with a small town on top of it(Halloween Town, eh?), this one was something straight out of his recent dream. Adrian took the time to outline it, doing his best to remember its details. The large shadow-like behemoth that scared the teen stiff was now imprinted on the cave wall. But for some reason Adrian could feel a weird bond with this specific creature, feeling as if he already knew who it was. A bond like... a son would have with their father. Tossing the rock aside Adrian then gently placed his hand on the drawing itself, unsure of what to believe in. Why did he feel this way towards the creature? Could it really be his father? These questions still remained unanswered as removed his hand away from it, shaking his head and thought that it would be impossible.

Trinity looked around and saw a few people up this early (SF and Sakura). She had known both of them, one of them was a girl about three years older than her and she was walking down the beach. The other was a boy who was her age and she used to talk to him alittle. He seemed like he was in a rush to get somewhere. She smiled and nodded her head as she thought of a few questions she had wanted to ask everyone. "All in time.." She whispered those words from where the man had told her, and she continued to walk towards her side of the island. When she saw people walking around, that was her hint that it was time for her to recede away to her area. She climbed the cliff and looked around at the small town one last time before heading towards her house. She was relieved when she saw that no one was a her house and nothing had been touched. At her side was the rope and coconuts that she took from the dispense house. She laid them on the table when she walked into the house and looked around at her quiet room. "Home sweet Home, right?" She asked herself and laughed while looking out at the beach. Suddenly a man appeared on the beach, he looked injured and threw himself on the sand. She ran out, knowing who he was and went straight to his side. "What happened?" She said, looking at his side as scratch marks appeared on his side and blood leaked out of the deep marks. "I was attacked... and the others are there..somewhere. Trinity, find the gate to the worlds and save this place from the darkness. They will find destiny Island." He said, reaching up for her and then falling back.

Right then, he sank into the sand and disappeared. She reached out for him and her hand went straight through the sand. She fell forward, hoping she followed him but the portal was closed and she just ended up face first with a mouth full of sand. She pushed herself up off the ground and looked out along the horizon. Is the gate out there?Or is it somewhere on the island? She thought, looking around to see if anyone was close enough to see what happened. She slammed her fist into the ground and stood up quickly, running into her house and grabbing a few various items.

"My, my, aren't you the curious one?" a voice echoed which caught the boy's attention.

"Who's there?" asked Adrian as he stood up, looking around the cave but saw no one. However once he looked over at the trail that led back to the shore, he could see a figure wearing a dark brown robe emerge, its face concealed. By the sound of their voice and the look of their physical features, this person's gender was none other than a male. "Um... isn't a little too early to be dressing up for Halloween?" Adrian ended up asking, seeing that the man didn't respond at all. "The heck are you supposed to be anyway, the Grim Reaper?" he asked once more, chuckling a bit.

"A comedian?" the man finally manage to say, approaching the boy slowly. "Ah, I can sense a strong amount of Light coming from you... you appear to be one of those chosen to wield the Keyblade..." explained the man while Adrian was left in a state of confusion. Raising an eyebrow he asked, "A what now?"

"Foolish mortal. So oblivious, just like what I expected. This world has been connected, tied to the Darkness. This pitiful island will be soon lost, eclipsed within the Darkness itself until there is nothing left." With that, the man began to make his way down the trail. But, before he disappeared the last thing that left his lips were, "Oh, by the way. You'll see your father real soon." Adrian's eyes widened at the sound of this and he attempted to stop this mysterious being but it was far too late. Now he was even more confused. This talk about a Keyblade? Light? Darkness? Meeting his father? What did it mean? Well, whatever it meant, Adrian just pushed those thoughts to the side and decided to see if any of his friends were doing anything. And so, he exited the Secret Place and went off in search of anyone on the shore.

Ayame at one the small island that was connected with Destiny Island. Looking out into the ocean, she started getting weird visions. The ocean started purple and the sky was dark, giving it an eerie feeling. Suddenly, dark figures were rising up on the ground. They had yellow beady eyes and was all black. She started running away from them, but bumped into a tall figure, making her fall on the ground. The figure's face was covered by a hood, making it impossible to look at its face. Although she couldn't see his face, she could tell that the figure had smirked.

"Light. Dark. You're just a confused being. Tsk tsk tsk," the figure said in her head.
"What are you talking about? And what's happening right now?" she asked him.
"You'll find out soon enough. Until next time," the figure whispered.

Ayame closed her eyes and opened them, to find everything she saw, gone. The blue ocean and the light blue sky was where it should be. She looked around and saw that everything was normal.
