Gendou sighed. "I was bored," he said, walking toward the female reaper. "So, I decided to come see what you were up to." Gendou slipped his hands into his pocket. "Cute noise you have there." He stopped next to her, standing to her right. "Are you gonna sick it on the little pawn over there?" He cracked his knuckles. "Cause I bet it would be fun."

Gendou leaned over a snuck a sucker out of Cam's bag and stuck it in his mouth before she could speak. Gendou's cocky face soon grew to one of disgust. His lips dropped to a frown, his mouth hung open. The sucker lazily hung in his mouth. Grape. He hated grape. He ripped the sucker from his mouth and spat. In rage, he threw the sucker to the ground. On contact, it shattered into thousands of tiny purple shards. His attitude completely shifted, he glared at Cam from the corner of his eyes, as if it was her fault.

[Rhapsody Flows]

Cute Noise? Cam scoffed as the Reaper came closer to her. Gendou asked if he was going to attack the Players with the Noise that she had summoned. Cam felt her eyes roll once more. Of course she was! She didn't send out this beast just for show! Gendou cracked his knuckles, as if he himself was going to attack the Player as well. Like heck you are. . .

Suddenly, she heard the male spit something out, and then smash it to the ground. She spun her head to the ground and saw tiny pieces of purple remains. Near the purple pieces was a small, thin stick. It probably used to hold whatever the purple stuff was together.

Wait a second. That couldn't be . . . No.

Cam's hand reached for her bag. It was opened, and she never left her bag opened. The woman felt her whole body jerk. Did he just . . . swipe a sucker from her bag?! No one ever took one of Cam's suckers! And she never let anyone touch them! That would explain why she was getting low on them all of the sudden. Gendou must've been stealing her suckers.

This guy must've been a fool to do something like this. . . "Gendou," she muttered through gritted teeth as she stared down at the remains of the sucker. Her voice was on edge, and she tried her best not to strangle the Reaper right here and now. Her head shot up, and her eyes glared coldly into his. "Please, don't ever touch my suckers again. I'm only telling you once."

[OmniChaos]

Gendou looked at Cam with a hurt expression. "Cammy," he said, digging into his pockets. "Did you really think I was just stealing your suckers? No, I was making room." Gendou pulled out a bag of suckers, they sparkled brightly in the sun. They were all, from what Gendou gathered, Cam's favorite flavors. He held them toward her. "They were all customly made." A grin covered his face as he put the bag in her hand. "They were a real steal!" He started laughing. "This is what I brought you back from my trip. The fur was just a gag." He folded his arms and looked over at the player. "So, who's the pawn?"

[Sora the warrior]

Sora, noticing that he was being ignored, finally found the strength to stand. He got up and looked weakly up at Gendou.
"HEY!" He shouted to Gendou as he staggered, standing. "You owe us a clue." He said again. He snuck a peek at his hand, it read.

Cam took the bag, although she still wasn't pleased that he was sneaking candy out of her bag. Cam had to admit, it was tempted to go and eat a handful of the suckers right at that moment. However, she didn't want to
take anything that used to belong to Gendou. She tossed it to ground. "Thanks. . . but no thanks."

"And about the girl over there, I don't know. I was just tormenting another Player a second ago before she got away from me. And then I happened to stumble upon this one. . ." Cam then shifted her eyes down to a beaten Player that she seemed to have overlooked. He appeared to be speaking to Gendou when he asked for a "clue". Whatever that meant.

As Cam's attention shifted elsewhere, Gendou snuck the bag of suckers into her bag and quickly shut it. Gendou was hoping that she didn't hear or feel him putting the suckers into her bag. He doubt she did. Gendou could be quite stealthy when he wanted.

"HEY! You owe us a clue."

Gendou's attention shifted toward a beaten player, the one that seemed to have gotten Cam's attention. Gendou moaned. Not again... he thought, folding his arms. "I owe you nothing!" Gendou shouted. "Neither of you pawns destroied the noise. I did! So, from what I see, you haven't completed my little game, thus no clue."

Gendou looked over to Cam, ignoring the player. "So, where's Kage?"

[Sora the warrior]

Sora was enraged.
"WHAT?! I risked my butt trying to get a clue! Wasting my time with you while my counter clicked away and now you won't even give me the clue?! My blast should have destroyed that thing and I-I...I....I"m not losing this game." Sora said the last sentence softly. "You cheapskate! I don't need your pathetic help to figure out a damn clue." He said as he began walking away from Gendou, hands in his pockets.

[OmniChaos]

Gendou broke into laughter as he heard the player's words leave his mouth. "Your 'blast' didn't kill the hyrda. Though it did wound it, I was the one who delt the final blow!" Gendou folded his arms. "Also, last I checked, I am a Reaper. Since I can't actually touch you, for the time being, I can hinder your progress. If you haven't gotten the hint yet, It was all a scam. Nothing more than a red herring to devert you from the real goal. Also, should you have won, the clue would have led you to something that has absolutely nothing to do with the mission!"

Gendou broke into laughter once more. "And the funniest part is the fact that you pathetic pawns actually fell for my trap!" Gendou pointed to the player. "You want your clue? Well, here it is: Tick-Tock! You have six minutes to live!"

"No!" Kusari watched the male, desperate to grab that knife straight away from the board. He couldn't do that! He shouldn't; he was being forced into something and he must've felt terrified. The tomboy jumped forwards with that in mind and tried to grab that knife. No avail. He already plucked it out of the board, staring at it wearily. Kusari was doing the exact same thing; even if it was just for a mission, it wasn't right for that to happen... He had already walked off, staring down at the knife as he stepped back into the lively streets of Shibuya. Gone. Just like that.

Yet, her hand didn't feel so heavy. That timer? The tomboy glanced down at it and felt excited, even to the point of ecstatic.

"Ha!" she excitedly exclaimed, shoving her palm into the air and showing it to the Reapers; though only Kyoroj was standing there now. No timer! They completed the mission!

But those hydra Noise said otherwise. She recoiled, placing her hand by her side, and stared up at them with wide eyes. The mission was complete; they didn't need to distract them anymore. Why did those Noise show up? She gulped, staring down at her shoes.

"...We don't..." she begun, giving a nervous gulp, "...have to fight them! We already completed your mission... you don't have to distract us..."

[OmniChaos]

Gendou sighed. There went his fun. A grin covered his face as he walked back toward the players, passing up Sora without any care. His fun may have been over, but he was still going to mess with these players.

"Congrats!" Gendou shouted, clapping his hands. He continued clapping his hands until he was only about a yard or two from the girl. "You completed the mission, but..." Gendou's grin grew. "Can you really live with yourself knowing that, through your victory, a living person will die? And that the one that was just playing will most likely be sent to jail for a very, very long time? Or worse?"

Gendou walked up to her, covering most of the space between them. "But, I am sure you will only take this with a grain of salt. Why should you care that another person die so that you would survive? The strong should survive, am I correct? The weak are nothing but fodder so that the strong may survive. Just like that man and the one that will be killed. Fodder. Nothing but a way for the strong to survive."

Gendou leaned in toward her ear, so that only she could hear him. He softly chuckled. "Welcome to my world."

Congrats!

Kusari felt a rush of relief at that word, especially when the sound of clapping jumped into her ears. She turned about to face Gendou as triumph leapt inside of her, causing a grin to form on her pale face. He stopped and his words soon felt grim. He continued on, not by congratulating them, but by causing Kusari to wake up to the grim reality that was just made real. That guy was going to do something that he didn't wish to do, but would end up completing his task in the end. She couldn't live with that thought. She felt so cold, fear curling its sharp, icy fingers into a fist around the poor girl. Horrified was definitely the word for that moment.

She gulped as he stepped closer, tempting to recoil back but found it to be useless. Still frozen, staring up at him; completely at a loss. He finally leaned down and whispered into the horrified tomboy's ear. Something that sent chills down her spine.

The tomboy jerked backwards, her stance becoming rigged as she tensed with both anger and fear. She gave a sniffle, rubbing her left eye with the side of her hand very stubbornly, and glared up at Gendou. Those words, those horrible words, had gotten to her in more of a way than fear was reaching.

"It's your fault!" she bravely exclaimed, now daring to take her eyes off of him, "If you hadn't stepped in... then he wouldn't have to do any of that!"

Suddenly, however, Kusari found herself staring down at her shoes and placing her arms in front of her. She kind of couldn't believe she just screamed at someone like that; someone she didn't even know that well.

"Su..." the tomboy gulped, leaning down a bit as if to bow, "Sumimasen..."

[OmniChaos]

Gendou grinned. "No need," he folded his arms. "You accomplished your goal. Who cares if some insignificant pawn gets killed in the process? The strong survive, the weak die." Gendou's face fell plain. "It's as simple as that."

Gendou's grin grew once more. "Listen, kid," he said, placing his arm on her shoulder. "Ponder this: Why go back? Is there really anything there left for you? Why not stay? Become a Reaper and gain more power than you once had. Back there, you're a nobody. A nemo. Stay here. Become a Reaper. Become something. Something of power and greatness."

Gendou removed his arm from her shoulder, letting it fall to his side. "Deep down, you enjoyed it. It's undeniable. You enjoyed having someone's life in your fingertips and having the power to choose whether or not that person will survive." He folded his arms. "Don't deny it. Remember the mission? Crawl into the minds of those who can't realize you and force their decisions to play out based on your own gain. You wanted him dead. Admit it!"

She gave a gulp. His words weren't as harsh, but she just didn't understand them. What he said was nothing like her; she couldn't try any harder to deny what he was saying. None of it was true! His invitation to those 'Reapers' guys was strange, too. Why was he doing that?

"But I... I did want to save him..." Kusari gulped, nervously playing with her hands as she tried to summon up the courage to speak while trying to think of exactly what to say, "He didn't deserve to do that... he didn't want to; he looked so scared and I didn't want to see somebody like that... I don't care about power either... I don't even get what I'm doing half the time with all of this fighting 'n stuff! I don't get what power is or why it's so important..."

When he said something about 'going back', however, she perked up. Her expression said she was completely confused, not a clue to what he was saying.

"...Go back?" she muttered, looking perplexed, "What'd you me--"

"HEY!"

Kusari looked behind Gendou, realizing that that shadow was now 'hovering' over him. The creepy thing looked really hungry, licking its lips and awaiting the right moment to swallow him right up. Behind that, though, was something strange: a person with black hair, yellow eyes, and a glare that said he was ticked off beyond belief yet the frown said he was completely serious as well.

"Don't you dare touch the bait!!"

Cam didn't know where Kage was at the moment, so she did not give an answer when Gendou asked. The Player who had asked Gendou for the clue was now moping about, going to who knew where. Cam sighed and gave a shrug. Geez, was this boring. Guess there's no need for you anymore. The teen looked up at the wyvern.

As if reading her thoughts, the beast gave a groan of displeasure. Flapping it's giant wings, it took off into the air. Unlike other Reapers, Cam didn't enjoy destroying Noise that were of no use anymore. She didn't no why, but whenever a Noise didn't prove useful anymore, she usually let it go instead of killing it.

The female gave another sigh before looking back down to the earth. Gendou was talking to a Player. And it just so happened to be the one that got away from Cam. However, she was talking to Gendou, so she couldn't possibly get a hit on her yet. So, insteads she she went over to the two, not really caring what they were talking about, but also not wanting to be bored yet again. Suddenly, a shadow appeared behind Gendou. A familar shadow.

Cam leaned back and slightly smiled. Kage.

[Akans]

"Ponder this: Why go back? Is there really anything there left for you? Why not stay? Become a Reaper and gain more power than you once had. Back there, you're a nobody. A nemo. Stay here. Become a Reaper. Become something. Something of power and greatness."

Kyoroj's eyes widened as Gendou offered the postition of a Reaper to Kusari. One that sounded hauntingly similar to his own... ages back...

He was running through the streets, Noise converging in every corner, everywhere he looked. It was the last day, anyways. The Gamemaster was pulling all the stops to keep them from finishing. And he had nearly finished. Nearly. But then... the other Players turned on him. He was too untrustworthy, too dangerous. They wanted him gone.
He ran through the streets. Without a partner, the Noise will pick him off easily. A black wolf-thing leapt at him from the shadows... he stumbled back, ripping out a Fire pin and waving it frantically, but to no avail. The power was gone.
The wolf-thing tackled him. He fell to the ground, eyes closed, accepting that he will die today. He will be erased today. There was nothing he could do. Eyes shut tight, he imagined the wolf-thing ripping through his skin and tearing out his guts. He was dead...

A snap.

The wolf-thing was gone. In its place was a Reaper. But no ordinary Reaper. A Gamemaster.
The Gamemaster smiled maliciously. "How ironic... the most powerful Player lies at my feet, betrayed by those he once called... 'friends'." He laughed, an evil laugh that held no humor, only despair.
The Gamemaster held out his hand. "Join us. There is nothing you have left now. As a Player, you were once feared and once strong, but no more. You are nobody now. But as a Reaper... power beyond what you have now..."

Kyoroj hesitated for a second. Just a second. Then held out his hand to the Gamemaster, and joined the ranks of the Reapers...

Kyoroj snapped back to reality. "NO!" He shouted as Gendou finished his offer. "Kusari, don't! The Reapers...." He stopped. And tried saying something again, but then stopped. Why was he all concerned? The Players could go to hell for all he cared. But this was wrong. As wrong as letting the blond guy kill someone.

He felt a twinge of guilt spark somewhere inside his gut, but then he repressed it. This was no time to be weak. He was a Reaper.

Kyoroj looked up, back at Kusari and Gendou. And, of all the people who just had to appear. It had to be Kage.
