Nocturne smiled. They had gotten to the part he liked.
"Payment... Hmm. Well, I'll work cheap for this one. It doesn't seem too hard, and I am interested in this. A battle between two assassins. I might even let this one go for free."

Nocturne got up and walked over, looking out the window. "That is, of course, if I die. Then consider all payments due null and void."
"I have a few contacts that might know something about this... alright. I'll keep an eye out. Please send me a message to my house if something of note comes up."

With that, Nocturne walked out into the streets. In truth, the Judge Volt incidence had caught his attention, because of the brutal and very unsubtle murder. But the muderer has still escaped. This meant that the killer was skilled.

But of course, Nocturne was more skilled.
Smiling, he headed towards home. There were a few things he needed to prepare before setting out...

"I have a few contacts that might know something about this... alright. I'll keep an eye out. Please send me a message to my house if something of note comes up." Vanten heard Nocturne say, as he stood up and made his way towards the door.

"But of course!" Vanten said as Nocturne left the house. Once quiet, Sirius once again entered the room. "Would you like me to summon them, my lord!" Sirius asked Vanten. "If you would!" Vanten replied, and within the hour, a small group of people had arrived, all sitting along a long table.

At the left end was Crawford Sculley, the towns treasurer. Across from him, to the right was Sally Stanton, the towns head researcher, and keep of documents. The next chair however, was empty. This one obviously had belonged to Volt. Across from the empty chair, sat James Loveless, the towns supplier in goods, both official and unofficial. To the final left chair, Torf Galin, the towns priest, and across from him to the right, Auska Lanor, Vanten's Vice-President.

And of course, at the head of the table, sat Vanten himself. "My friends! I am glad that you have all had the time to meet like this!" Vanten said to the group.

As Rain walked through his office everyone noticed he had a new personal secretary with a look of blue about her "Miss Olaygo please cancile all appontments today pleas" Rain heard the normal yes sir speech as he entered his room with Saffire he looked at her she seemed uncomfortable "Sorry for the formal clothes you have to wear but its a must do" said Rain as it was becoming night time "Saffire i need you to get me the layouts of the Church and historicale documents building I am going out for the night" he said as he changed into his ghost hunter look "I will be back" and with that Ghost(Rains hunting name) jumped out the window for some fun hunting.

As ghost jumped off buildings he noticed that the police had buffed up there security "So you think you cops can stop me how amuzing" said ghost as he broke into the bank as ghost waked into the document vault he noticed a big door made out of crom steel "I wonder whats behind door number 2" said Ghost as he put a high powered explosive remote bomb "Bada Boom" said ghost as the door blew up as the smoke went away Ghot went through some high document "This isnt right" said Ghost as he read them if true these documents told that atleast 1 billion dollars of the taxs payers money was being used on mechanicle study" How can this be true with this much money missing people working here should have noticed unless" Ghost sighed "Vanten has found a way to hide these fact well i wo..." As Ghost almost finished this sented a machanicle monster appeared behind him as he looked at it it had one red eye to hands which were defenently machine guns and tank liike legs "Oh boy this may be a proplem" said Ghost as he inched toward the door and reached for his pistols the machine started to move towards him raising its arms at him as ghost jumped out of the way of fire as the building was slowly being torn apart by automatice fire Ghost loaded hes Dual pistols when finally the machine ran out of fire Rain jumped on the machines head "three strikes your out" Ghost towards the door as he shot off the machines head with 20 bullets the body fell apart after that hearing yells and groans Ghost left the building before the police got there after doing a search the only thing missing police said was a single document.

As rain entered his house he wondered what would happen next.

Saffire already knew the layout of bot the Church and historicale documents building.so she got to work,and after about 45 minutes she was finished with her task.knowing her,she would always stay up all night.and that's exacly what she did,she was to used to it to stop it seemed.

"Why have you called us all here, Lord Vanten?" Sally Stanton asked Vanten, from the other end of the table. "Yes, does it have something to do with Volt's murder!" James Loveless also asked.

"Why yes it does!" Vanten said as he stood up from his chair, and began to walk around the length of the table. "I believe, that our old friend Volt's murder, wasn't a simple act of violence. I assume, that it was some carefully planned attack!" Vanten said as continued to walk.

"Do you know, who the culprit is?" Auska Lanor questioned Vanten. "Not of this moment! But soon we should have our answer!" Vanten replied as he sat down again. "Now, there is another reason why I have called you here tonight!" Vanten said as he took a sip from a glass filled with brandy.

"Our plans are going quite smoothly, and we should be able to put the finishing pieces very soon!..... That is all I have to say at this moment. You may all go back to your roles!" Vanten said to the group as he stood once again before seeing everyone off.
Once they had left, Vanten retreated to his main chamber, to continue working on some plans.

One of the first things Nocturne did was visit the local law enforcement. It was ironic, really. An assassin getting help from the police? Unheard of, except for in this town.

"Officer Conner... Good morning to you." Nocturne said to the Polic Chief, sliding smoothly into the seat in front. "I am here as a Private Investiagtor, investigating the death of the unfortunate late Mr. Volt. Could you, please, grant me access to your records?"

The Police Chief coughed nervously. Nocturne was known as a killer, but any attempts to arrest him ended up with either missing warrents, or missing police officers. The city had gone through four police chiefs in the past month, all dead from "suicide".
"I... I can't allow that, Mr. Nocturne... That would be.."
"That would be a very bad thing to do. Especially for your family. Two children and a wife, am I correct?" Nocturne interrupted smoothly, cleaning his nails.
"It would be extremely unfortunate if they suffered an accident. Or a series of accidents. Am I clear?"

"Y...Yes! O..Of course! Feel... free to browse all you want!"

Nocturne smiled maliciously. "Thank you. You may go now."
He quickly accessed the Chief's computer files, hacking easily through the primitive encryptions with his own specialized program. In a few minutes, he had a long list of suspicious occurances in the last few years. He quickly eliminated the ones caused by him. Which was about 88% of the list.

The one at the top of the short, edited list concerned a bank robbery only yesterday... with no money missing.

the next day whent by in mildintrest. he was waiting to get home. when he finally made it back he drew a large circle on his door. he sat in his armchair waiting his gun and swords waiting patiently at both of his sides

Wasilis heard an explosion like sound. "What was that?!" he thought as he ran towards the sound's direction. After a few minutes, two to be exact, he reached a bank. The door was broken and dust and smog were coming from the inside.

"What happened there?!" he pondered. "I am late!" he complained after realizing that the burglar had already escaped. "Dammit!" he yelled at no one in particular.

ghost ran throught the area as he looked at the mansions door he saw a circle after sneaking into the house he saw said "Sau its nice to have a new companion well i dont have long so here" said Ghost giving Sau some blue prints "Make these changes to your theatre house but make sure know one notice them" said ghost as he got to the window "Also make sure to have a nice play ready by the date on the design paper" said ghost as he jumped out the window

As ghost walked through the town he noticed someone looking at a file bringing out binokes he saw it was a file on the bank he had just fought the robot at the first thing that came to mind "Assasin Vantens for sure time to step up my game" said Ghost as he got home.

the next morning Vanten had got a mysteryes mail when he opened it it was a copy of the money file Ghost had stolen

Rain was in his office "Hm i think i should pay the man a visit" and with that Rain had made a apotment with Vanten to discuse some things as rain entered the building he waited for the secretary to let Vanten know he was waiting

Vanten sat in his office, going through the money file, which suddenly appeared in his house that morning. "Whoever this person is, they are quite clever!" Vanten thought as he finished going through the file. At that moment, Vanten's secretary came into the room.

"Sir, I'm sorry to interrupt you, but Mr Rain has arrived!" the woman said to him. "Thank you, please show him in!" Vanten replied to his secretary, and within a few minutes Rain was being shown into the office.
"Mr Rain, to what do I own this visit!" Vanten said to Rain, as he walked into the office.

"oh i just curieous to know what you plan to do about these attacks on you lately" said raining looking at Vanten "First a judge is killed then one of your high tech machines is destroyed so i am just wondering what i can do to help you" asked Rain before bring up a new question "Also i heard that the Ghesto is trying a new play and i thought i would take you up on that offer of course i will find someone to go with but do you have someone" asked Rain sitting down in the chair

Nocturne sat down at his desk, in his study. His study was special. For one thing, it was in his house. Though house really is an inapporpriate word.
It was buried underground, and there was only one access (not including the three one-way bolt holes) in, going through three top security areas. No one was getting in unless he wanted them to.

Nocturne reviewed everything he had. It was a lot. Over 30 gigabytes of data from various police networks, political subjects, piles upon piles of newspapers, videos, bugs, microphones, and various other devices hidden around key areas that Vanten had installed. Nocturne was just borrowing some of the data.

He spent the first few hours browsing through the news, his eyes automatically jumping to suspicous occurances, usually the small and vague ones, rather than the large and extremely public ones, especially local occurances. Two hundred or so related incidences he noted down, and he continued on.

For the rest of the day, he spent his time going over videos, hidden mikes and bugs, and reviewing the budget for almost every citizen in the city, focusing on the most prominent and the least unknown people. Those would be the ones with an incentive to destabalize the government.

One recording in particular caught his attention... and, when compared to the mound of data, there was only sixteen that corresponded with his developing theory.

He quickly scanned all the information and copied it into a single tiny hard drive which hung around his neck, and wiped everything he had done.

He got up and smiled. Dawn was coming, and he should get to work. Things were starting to get interesting.

"First a judge is killed then one of your high tech machines is destroyed so i am just wondering what i can do to help you. Also i heard that the Ghesto is trying a new play and i thought i would take you up on that offer of course i will find someone to go with but do you have someone" Rain said to Vanten.

"Everything is fine as it stands, Mr.Rain. No need to concern yourself!" Vanten said as he stood up from his desk, and walked over towards the large dresser, which had a bottle of brandy.

"In regards to your proposal, I just so happen to have someone in mind, and of course, you yourself seem to have this well thought out. There is indeed a new play the Ghesto is preparing. It shall begin in a few days time, So if you are free, we shall partake in it!" Vanten said to Rain with a slight smile as he poured some of the brandy into a glass for himself. "But there is something I would like to ask you. How is the electricity coming along?" Vanten said to Rain."

"Its coming great actually thats the other reason i am here" said Rain pulling out a chip "All you have to do is instal this to a computer in this house and the comp will auto activate if you excuse me its night and i should probable get home if you need any thing call me" Rain said leaving the building as night acurd Ghost had come to life running the streets he was in a need to get some where and when he got there james lovelesses life was going to dissappeare
