Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | You want a fight? Just try it against my character. It will be one-on-one with the first person to post and the fight will take place in one of the empty rooms of castle oblivion (which in the game take the form of worlds, but here it's just a huge blank room). Name: Karutomaru (Roughly translates to " Card man" similarly to Orochimaru) Age: 18 Weapon(s): A skrep (a long thin sword). And a deck of cards created from his own memories. Clothes: Red hair, square glasses, and an Organization 13 coat. Abilities: Can bring cards to life at the cost of his concentration and handles a longsword with finesse. He has high intelligence and can use the enviroment to his advantage. Story: Not much is known other than he is a fanatic for cards of different designs and somehow travels through different worlds using his own vessel. After Marluxia disappeared he took Castle Oblivion as his own and experimented with it's ability to turn reality, memories, and actions into cards. His Organization outfit is to throw people off and make them think the organization is still alive as well as spy on the organization back when they WERE alive. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | "Then let's get started." Music starts playing in the background as Karutomaru holds up a card with a lightning bolt design. YouTube - Persona 3 OST: 1.10 - "Slipping by Battles" "Thundaga!" Karutomaru makes a manic face as he says it. |

| Rank 1 | There was music playing in this empty white chamber. It was an oddly aggravated tone, like a ferocious battle hymn which played not for the Republic of Heaven, but for a smaller party. It ran through the air, beats flowing like birds through the air, permeating the environment until it seemed like the sound was emanating from the air particles themselves. It was heavy with battle fever, and despite the heavy beat that seemed to flow through them, the walls did not shake with the vibrations. It was as if the music was simply in their heads... Sounds seems to not originate from any clear source... It simply is... While the white room was ringing with this wordless battle melody, it was empty except for a single, black-robed figure. The dark fabrics contrasted heavily with the pearly white floors, and even as the two doors on either side of the room remained still, he moved. The hood cast a simple shadow over his face, but hints of crimson red hair could be seen peeking through the darkness. As he moved his head, as silent and graceful as the shadow his coat represented, a sheen of white light reflected off of his glasses and sent reflections scattering across the white floor, dancing amidst the utter blankness. Found another one... identified by the coat, as usual... Organization member? Possibly. Either way... In the air, a single slit of light seemed to hover, creasing open in the white room, a golden yellow light splitting the air in half, quickly widening into a single rectangular block of gold seemed to form. It was quite a sight, a gate of golden energy simply forming in mid air. However, even as the light spilled out, it vanished with an odd clicking sound, as if a single lock had been flicked shut after opening. The golden light vanished, and where it had appeared, a single figure stood. Slowly straightening, his tall, tanned body tensing as he rose, the man straightened up, relaxing his muscles as he shook himself slightly. Blue eyes opened with a flash, his spiked black hair rigid as he glanced directly at the black-cloaked figure, fingerless gloves tight as he watched the man carefully. "I've been searching for you," he said slowly, his voice deep and powerful, reflecting years of confidence and training, yet betraying a slight hint of darkness, "You and your kind... you're the ones..." He will be terminated... heart locked away, like all those others that hurt her... I will draw on his heart for more energy, and I will become the greatest warrior in existence... He reached down, adjusting his clothing for a split second as the cloaked man raised his arm. With the motion upwards, he relaxed himself, sapphire eyes focusing as he readied his body for the split reaction. Muscles seemed to liquefy, ready to toughen and contract in whatever way he needed. Dark black combat boots, large for surface tension seemed to grip the white floor easily, and as the cloaked figure shouted out a single word, Sora X followed his lip motion easily, reading their contours and predicting, with the raised hand, what the man was about to do. "Thundaga!" screamed the dark figure, but even as the man began to spit out the word, Sora X was moving. Leaping forward, chest forward and left arm extended, his face contorted into a focused grimace as he sensed the energy in the air beginning to crackle with the magical words. He took in a single, short breath, not needing to speak the words, as the training of many lifetimes had taught him to draw magical energies without verbal manifestation. Reflect As his left hand raised, a few hexagonal energy shapes materialized in the palm of his hand. As he closed in on the man, the electrical energy bolts shot towards him, and with a keen look in his eye, his right hand curled into a fist, he leaped forward, the lightning bolts striking the meter long energy shield that had manifested in his left palm. The lightning hit the force field, ricocheting outwards, striking the floor with a roaring screech and fading off into air. An average elemental attack. You're going to need heavier weapons than that, monster... As Sora X's right foot hit the ground, he grunted, eyes afixed on the cloaked man as he swung his right hand forward, the fist opening to reveal a ball of fiery orange flames. The tongues of fire licked at his fingers, not harming him despite the heat that radiated out from his palm, and as he closed in, stepping now only a few feet from the cloaked man, he roared, throwing his palm forward, letting a huge jet of flame explode outwards toward the man. There was a single second of hesitation, as the oxygen in the room seemed to envelop the flames, teasing them, offering them delight. And then a huge torrent of fire, about six feet wide in diameter, exploding in the cloaked figure's direction. As it was fired only a few feet away from him, the man would have to move about six feet in either direction in order to dodge the flames. To do either in that split second would take reflexes of a superhuman. Burn you wretch... burn... |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | (listen. You really don't have to go into THAT much detail, especially about a simple thundaga move.) "You know.... I know a few things about interdimensional travel myself." Karutomaru holds up another card, this one being of a different type than the ones normally seen at Castle Oblivion. ![]() The card shines brightly and disappears as the torrent of flames stops short of Karutomaru. As if being sucked into an invisible black hole. "I think we should move this to somewhere more colorful." Karutomaru holds up a world card depicting Destiny Islands as the world around them transforms into a sandy beach bordering the island Sora was raised on. "Let's play." Karutomaru holds up another card with the design of a darkside heartless. The card disappears and a huge monster rises from the sand with Karutomaru standing on it's should closing his eyes and concentrating. |

Sora X's eyes seemed to straighten, his eyebrows narrowing as the sudden whoosh of hair pulled past his hair. He felt the suction, and as the cloaked figure raised his hand, a familiar looking card clutched between his fingers, a vortex seemed to open in front of him. There was a roaring rush of expansion and energy, and the torrent of fire seemed to crackle, vanishing into oblivion as it was sucked into this endless hole of darkness. Sora X crouched, lowering himself into a defensive stance as the air rushed past him into this swirling maelstrom of power. I'm not being sucked into the vortex... It must be meant for targeting attacks. And he used another card to summon it... just like the Thunder attack... "I think we should move this to somewhere more colorful." The cloaked figure's voice seem to ring in the air like bells chiming, his speaking far more playful than the others of his ilk that Sora X had encountered. He frowned at the voice, his body tensing again as another card slipped up into man's dark fingers... His blue eyes seemed to quiver as the familiar beachside scene caught his eyes.... "Let's play..." The white walls seemed to fade, vanishing as a mosaic of colors swam into view. The music continued playing, but even as Sora X leaped back, his feet now catching on what felt like grainy sand, the white ceiling was replaced by an azure blue sky, the walls replaced by shimmering ocean and glowing sun. Sora X felt what seemed like hot sunlight beaming down on his black combat clothes, and he glanced up, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the black figure, whose hand now held another card... Destiny Islands... back to where it all began... the card... However, his thoughts were interrupted by a sudden tremor. The ground itself seemed to be shaking, the sand shifting beneath his feet, as he spread his legs apart, his eyes alert as the beach itself seemed to shiver. He could feel his heart twitching, a small tinge filling his body as the familiar sense alerted him to the thread. "Heartless," he muttered quietly to himself, and sure enough, even as those words escaped his lips, the tendrils of darkness arose. Emerging from the sand in front of him, the black snakes seemed to writhe from the sand, the hulking mass of human darkness arising from the golden grains. Like a dark whale breaching a sunlit ocean, the Darkside Heartless slid upward, its huge figure rising until it blot out the sun... like an eclipse, sending its shadow across the beach. Its size, even now, could amaze Sora X. A single human can produce so much darkness in there heart? It's fascinating... However, Sora X had never been known for patience. He was here to fight the cloaked man, not this monstrosity of a human heart. So quickly, as the Darkside's bright yellow eyes stared down at him, he brought his hands together, blue eyes shutting for a quick moment. The world fell into silence for a moment, and even as he let his head bow, the world around him seemed to vanish. All there was, was him, and his heart... he felt it stirring, the energy held within glowing brightly, as if begging to be released. Time to show the black-coats how strong a captured heart can be... Sora X opened his eyes, a faint glow emanating from his blue orbs, and he held his right fist forward, clutched tightly as he watched the Darkside's hellish hand reaching closer and closer for him. The fingers seemed to drag against the air as they came closer, and even as he held his hand forward, the beast came, until those black claws were only a foot away from his body. However, even as those dark mandibles came forward, Sora X grunted, whipping his right fist forward, and slamming it deep into the Darkside's middle finger. Plunging his hand deep into the darkness, he felt it quiver, almost groaning as the pain enveloped it. The creature would be howling in pain if it could. Between Sora X's closed hands, the golden light seemed to expode, a single crimson glow of a heart seen for a split second before the crimson-gold energy shot up the Darkside's arm, filling it's entire body as the arcs of energy leaped off of it. The beast seemed to arch it's back as the energy of the heart overtook it, overwhelming the darkness with its power as the Darkside froze for a single moment, inky black skin seeming to bubble as those yellow eyes stared at the space where Sora X had been in terror. The Darkside exploded into wisps of blackness, the smokey tendrils of darkness vanishing into the thin air, a single red heart rising into the azure sky as the beast fell to the ground. However, even as the Heartless fell, Sora X was on the move. With speed unrivaled combined with a bit of magical teleportation he had learned, he appeared directly behind the cloaked man, his right hand extended, two fingers pointing at the base of the man's neck as the beast vanished into darkness. Reflect. As he appeared, the man would find himself unable to think. Unable to move. Unable to clearly process what was going on. Sora X had cast a few very specific Reflect magick spells. Two of the shields had been placed within key arteries, blocking the flow of blood, causing the man's heart to stop almost instantly. Two of the other minute shields had been placed in the man's cerebral cortex, blocking several key neuron interactions, preventing him from controlling his body in an attempt to stop him. The man was immobilized, unable to move and use a card to stop him, while he would die of a heart attack within seconds. Sora X remained immobile himself behind him, completely focused on maintaining his four tiny, yet crucial spells, fingers directly pointed at the man's spine. He did not speak, he did not make a witty remark. Death was a simple thing; and Sora X knew that attacks from behind did not merit a triumphant monologue... OOC: RPing is not simply Attack, attack, dodge, dodge, counter, counter. I want something with personality, something akin to art rather than crap. Details may not be necessary, but they're what I used to craft my story. I wouldn't mind seeing that in yours if you manage to survive.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | As Karutomaru stood there unable to move, Sora X stood there holding his spell. Not being able to physically talk, Karutomaru simply talked in his mind. "Get him." As Sora X stood behind him fingers to his neck he looked on the sand and noticed something odd. He's not casting a shadow. But before Sora X could react, a long, thin hand struck him in the back of the head, breaking his concentration and knocking him down. As he looked back up he saw Karutomaru standing there kricking his neck with his hands as a black Neoshadow heartless sank into the floor as a shadow and attatched itself to Karutomaru's planted feet. "You really need to play fair." As he walked slowly toward Sora X he proceeded to unsheathe his thin, silver, 2.5 foot skrep. |

| Rank 1 | OOC: Alright, before I post, could you explain to me how you summoned a Neoshadow and controlled it without using a card? Seems like that's your only set of abilities, so I'm confused as to how you managed that. Additionally, even if you could summon a Neoshadow without using a card, my Reflect spells are preventing your neurons from interacting, essentially blocking out your logical thought process. Not be able to move aside, you would not be able to concentrate or think clearly, as I said in my post, making controlling, let alone summoning, a Neoshadow quite impossible. Also, you've done a bit of powerplaying saying that Sora X saw the fact that there was no shadow, that you forcibly knocked me down, etc, etc. You're going to have to write it as that 'would happen,' just as I did in my posts. That's not as big an issue as the summoning/controlling however. I don't mind continuing, and ignoring these faults, but I'd like to hear your explanation. |

| :|Your Personal|: {Jesus} | Guys, don't bash him. Would you have liked that when you first joined? Constantly berating someone with slander and disrespect, contrary to local belief, does NOT help them improve. Simply SHOW him how YOU believe roleplaying should work, or do not battle him. But doing so may very well deprive this section of some much needed fresh material, and fresh meat. He has to learn through experience, not by flaming. Think, don't just bitch at people. Keep it professional. |

If you enjoy writing long-winded posts, then by all means do as you please, but it's by no means expected of any roleplayer. So long as everything's addressed properly, my opponent can limit his posts to one paragraph for all that I care. No offence meant to Prophet, but I don't even feel like reading his posts half the time. Should've seen how many pages I skipped in Team Valyon vs Everyone else. Roleplaying is for the personal enjoyment of the roleplayer. Sure you should respect your opponent enough that they are enjoying themselves too, but who here is doing that, exactly? Karutomaru's challenge was accepted by Prophet, who full-well understood Karuto's capabilities the moment he read his template. Rather than mould the newbie to your expectations (who will make that decision for themselves), perhaps it'd be more prudent to roleplay with someone more like-minded to yourself?

Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | As for the Neoshadow it's quite simple. It wasn't really a summon. It's simply a single heartless that obey's Karutomaru's strong heart similarly to Maleficent or Ansem (Well not exactly Ansem since he IS a heartless). Karutomaru knows about others who tried to control the darkness and were consumed by it so to be on the safe side he is only commanding one that follows him by becoming one with his shadow. But in this process it also created a risk. If his shadow disappears then his existince as an entity will be gone. He will be stuck in the Twilight and essentially become a real nobody. Hopefully something like that won't happen. |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() Currently playing: with myself Level: 16 EXP: | Still, for future reference, it's best to address those kind of things in your post so your opponent understands, and preferably hint at it in your template as well, just so we don't have people making powers up on the spot, you see? |
