Currently playing: Pokemon Diamond, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Puppeteer | Re: Round One, Battle Three: Rainfire vs D2L Name: Roshan "the Storm Caller" Age: 30 in physical age; technical age is 246 Gender: Male Personality: Roshan is a gruff and no-nonsense kind of a guy. He’s stern and fierce, a fighter until the end. Do not mistake him for mean or evil though – this was just the way he was raised in the Ma’akori. His stubborn attitude can sometimes lead to brash and unwise decisions, but for the most part, he’s a pretty stable person. Being a Storm Caller, he’s quite the fighter, both in hand-to-hand and with his powers. He cannot tolerate people who are sarcastic or joke around; taking to an aggressive behavior with them (which isn’t just limited to him, but the majority of his race is like this). Appearance: His appearance is deeply related to his race – the Ma’akori. His skin is a pale blue in color, and his hair is black, coming down to the middle of his back, dreadlocked. His eyes are pure green, no pupil discernable from any other part of the eye. His ears curve back slightly (it allows him and others of his race to listen to the environment as well as life). His outfit is that of what you’d see an Native American Shaman or Medicine Man wear – brown robes for garb, all sorts of amulets, necklaces, and other things. He has a large tattoo of a lightning bolt on his back, underneath the layers of clothes. He stands about 6’7 and weighs 250 lbs – all muscle. Race: Ma’akori – A race of humanoids who are quite larger than humans on average (their average height for males being about 6’4 and females 6’1). Their skin (males) is a pale blue or a pale pink (females). Their hair is always black, and usually either braided or dreadlocked. Short hair in their society is considered a form of punishment and usually that’s how you identify an outcast. Their personality type is fierce and adamant… though on a personal level, they treat their families with quite a bit of love and tenderness. They are capable of space and dimensional travel via organic ships that they produce. They have a respect and love of nature and life that is quite unrivaled. Storm Callers are usually at the top of their societal castes. The Ma’akori are able to live such long lives (which border on immortality to most races) because they are, in fact, part of Nature itself to an extent – all the force and energy that is channeled is focused through them (as well as other races). It is also through this process that they gain their powers – the Storm Callers, Fire-Bringers, Death Stealers, etc. Biography: The Ma’akori are a secretive race. They do not like to be disturbed, and rarely communicate with other races unless in need of some sort of supplies. Roshan’s past is thus shrouded in the same sense of mystery. However, Roshan has come to terms that not all things can remain a mystery. He at one point had conceded his past and written it down, which will be summarized in this biography so that others may know more about the secretive race known collectively as the “Shamans of the Universe.”
Roshan was born to the highest caste of his society. His father was an Overpriest – one of ten that were directly under the Grand Archon of Ma’akorian and his mother was the head of a major trading company that traded with other races across the universe. These Overpriest are of course, Storm Callers in and of themselves but only answer to one and only use their powers to serve him/her and their children usually grow up to become Overpriests as well. Roshan though, was different in the fact that while he did enjoy the thought of being a Storm Caller, he had distaste for the idea of being an Overpriest. He wanted to be able to use his abilities whenever and wherever he felt like it. His father of course, disapproved of this and his mother only wished for her only son to be happy.
As Roshan aged, though his argument with his father never ceased, he learned the rites anyway, just in case. Training to be a Storm Caller starts at the young age of 15 (which is very young for the Ma’akori). The Overpriest training starts a year later.
He will do whatever it takes to get the answers he wants. Abilities: Roshan is a Storm Caller – basically, an elementalist. He is able to summon storms and any property of a storm to any place, essentially making it sub-sentient. This could range from a drizzle, to a raging hurricane (like the one on Jupiter). He can use single elements as well – such as summoning a simple tornado, or hail instead of an entire storm. Also, whatever might constitute a storm in another form (such as a Supernova or Radiation Storm) he can control as well… though the cost is great to him, since these other kinds of energies tend to be considered unnatural and he was never trained to really deal with them. They can have a wide range of drawbacks – anywhere from a small headache to paralysis or even death.
Roshan also benefits from the fact that his skin, due to years of training and weathering, is impenetrable by most normal means – swords, bullets, etc. However, enchanted weaponry is harder to stop and tends to end up being treated as a normal blade would to others – painful, if not deadly. Blades or weapons enhanced by elemental abilities, however, will leave no mark at all and in some cases will cause a temporary boost to his abilities.
Lastly, Roshan is immune to any natural toxin, pheromone, glandular liquid, etc, anything that is considered a natural ability of a race (for example, the Beljok’s Fungal Spores that can cause sleep) would have little, if not any, effect on Roshan. The reason behind this is that, once again, Ma’akori are considered the “Shamans of Nature” and the harbingers of life, to that extent. This also allows the Ma’akori to breathe in any atmosphere (though they cannot breathe in space or in solid material, like metal).
(OOC: I'd flesh the bio out more, but I'm too lazy at the moment. I figured I'd give D2L a fighting chance. This is probably the most straight-forward character I've designed in some time. )

~~~ Name: Drake Age: 21 Gender: Male Homeworld: Earth Species: Human Appearance:
Drake has close cut black hair with a diagonal part on the right side. He stands about 6’1” with caramel colored skin. His eyes are an almost unusual shade of light brown, and his body build is muscular though not huge (think Batman). His attire consists of a black leather coat that flows down to about his mid-thigh with a white T-Shirt underneath. A black and gray checkered scarf hangs around his neck, though it’s not tied. To top it off he wears gray slightly baggy jeans, though he never sags his pants. Lastly, gray and black high-top sneakers for ease of movement. Personality:
Drake is a likeable guy. From witty banter, to intelligence, to being rather smooth, he has the personality traits of your average good-hearted super-powered human. His feelings about his race could be compared to a concerned parent and his out-of-control teenager: despite their many flaws and wrong-doings, he still loves them and feels the need to protect them in hopes that one day they’ll change their ways. Yet, there is a part of Drake that none have seen; the very core of his persona remains mysterious. Abilities: Passive: Drake, despite his young age, has reached the peak human physical condition, his body being better trained than even the best Olympian athlete. He has also developed almost inhumanly keen vision, being able to track things and objects moving at high speeds with his eyes. Active: Drake has two primary abilities: first, he can increase his heart rate and adrenaline level at will. This results in a whole host of useful abilities, ranging from resistance to extreme temperatures, to increased strength and awareness, to being able to run at higher speeds than even the fastest humans. This power is double sided however – if he uses it for too long he could have a serious stroke or heart attack.
Secondly, Drake has the ability to absorb and utilize kinetic energy in many different ways, such as firing it in concentrated blast to reverting from one object (or him) to another, or simply converting it raw physical strength for some examples. He can use the kinetic energy not only from himself, but can also absorb it from nearby objects or beings in motion. Biography:
Drake's past... is rather mysterious.
He does not remember his childhood, parents, or anything of that sort. He memory only seems to go back five years in the past, to age 16. Drake awoke on the floor of a prison cell, alone, in the dark. Looking around, somehow his eyesight was good enough for him to see clearly, though that was much use - there was no one to see. The entire prison was completely abandoned except for him. Grabbing the bars to his cell, he tried to see if he could get out but to no avail. Thinking it no use, he simply laid back down and went to sleep.
The next morning, he awoke to a bang; a large explosion had blown a whole in the back wall of his cell. Stepping outside, he saw that he was in an artic tundra, as well as the middle of what appeared to be a war. To his left and right he saw soldier shooting at one another, for what he did not know, but the all were fighting fiercely. A soldier from his right side spotted him existing the cell and turned around to yell to his superior.
"There he is! He's freed!"
"Capture him!"
Laying on the bullets, the soldiers from the right side began to run towards him. Seeing their actions, soldier from the left side began coming as well. Panicking, Drake ran straight across the field, ducking to try and dodge bullets. His heart began to pump faster and faster and faster, and he didn't even realize just how fast he running until he looked back and saw that the battlefield was several hundred yards behind him. Not wanting to try his luck, he continued to run.
It was freezing out there, but he was not cold. It was as if the temperature did not phaser him at all.
{finish later}
Currently playing: Pokemon Diamond, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Puppeteer | Re: Round One, Battle Three: Rainfire vs D2L Roshan could faintly recall the words of his "elders." They would have told him to pray for forty-eight hours in order to align his spirit properly with the Gods. They would have told him that fasting before a battle would keep his mind focused on himself and on his mind rather than his physical body. These are things that his elders would have told him, if they had been here, and if he would have listened. Roshan was not one to listen to his elders though... mainly on the idea that he found his elders inferior to his abilities and mental capacity. They were old, and represented the old ideas. Their thoughts and words were repudiative of all good ideas and repudiative of all natural ideas. They represented an antithesis to his own accordances and for that he found them repulsive and repudiated them.
Which was probably what brought him to the scene before him.
Golden brick, or at least, what had once been, laid itself out before him. His gaze seemed to capture all within... from the smallest crack within the bricks below his feet to the largest pattern of the clouds in the sky. They were heavier, but did not fully cover the sun above. This was a good thing -- it gave him some leeway as to what he would be able to do with his own abilities. He noticed that before him also laid a device... an artifact. He knew from the information previously given to him (and as well to his opponent, whoever that would be) that this artifact had the ability to send him to other worlds. It would give him a key advantage over his opponent, but not one that would be completely necessary. In fact, this battle was already mapped out in his mind... all he had to do was enact it.
He stepped to the plateau of the temple and looked down on the forest below. He picked up the artifact and smiled. It was such a fragile thing... and there was no need for it anymore. He simply took the artifact in hand and stored it within one of the many pockets of his outfit. He would keep it with him so that his opponent would never lay his hands on it. He felt a kind of warmth coming from this artifact and he wondered briefly as to where it came from... if in fact it belonged to the civilization that had created the temple on which he now stood or if it came from some others. Perhaps a myriad of intelligence or an un-myriad of the like, individual beings that could in fact create artifacts like these at their whim... He could not be sure. Then again, it was largely irrelevant to what was at hand.
He looked at the sky above him and closed his eyes for a moment. A storm here would be nothing to him -- it would require only a minute amount of energy. He could feel the crackle of the atmosphere and the energy around him. The ozone itself seemed to burn with a kind of passion that spoke to him that it was ready to do what was necessary to help him achieve his goals. It was odd that he was known as a "Storm Caller"... a "Storm Speaker" would be more appropriate. At the moment though it was not necessary to argue semantics. He licked his lips in anticipation as the sky greyed above him, and seemed to flatten out into a floor of dark grey as far as the eye could see. His eyes scanned the area below, eager to meet an opponent.
He pulled from behind his back his weapon of choice for this battle. At one end of the strong, thick, long staff there was a large jewel -- at least, it was a jewel to him. Possibly it looked like a rock to anyone else. At the other end of this weathered and hardened weapon was a large onyx blade. It was a double-headed axe. The thing was, the size would give any unexperienced opponent the false pretense that this weapon was clumsy and slow-to-wield. However, to Roshan it was lightweight and it felt as if it were an extension of his body. His thoughts were carried to it and the staff knew his wishes to an exactititude without question. If the staff wished for him to shift, he would, without question. He wielded it in his hands and awaited his opponent.
"Let this battle break forth."
