ALSO a Big Time Rule Change (probably should have mentioned this before stats were sent in, but meh)

Cure/Leaf Bracer are going to be DISALLOWED when reviving your fallen comrade.

You will have access to a BRAND NEW potion that will be allowed to be used to revive your teammate. It is of course the legendary Phoenix Down.

Mystical feathers of the phoenix that have properties that can revive those who have fallen in battle. They heal 25% of your maximum health.

Each team is allowed 2 Downs per match. Meaning one player may use them twice or both can use them once.

You are allowed 3 Ethers in addition to these Downs. Phoenix Downs do not count as potions :D

Stats will be posted later today when I get Dexel's.

*Head desk* woulda been nice to mention before stats were sent in... That kinda would have changed what stats we went in with greatly. the only reason we went in the way we did was because we thought this wasn't going to be put in place til later.

Yeah I'm thinking about holding out on that rule until next time. I don't think it's really fair to put the rule in after strats were made. Disregard that rule for now.



We are going to try and start this thing around Noon Central Time. If anyone has issues with this (Pacific Coasters) please reply to this thread.

Althought those rules were not fully confirmed, they were discussed before the date to send in teh stats. I agreed its a little unfair to ppl who didnt thought the rules would be implemented, but due to the last turf lasting so much time, i think some did already have those rules into account when sending the stats. And i really would dislike to see another turf like that, with so many dragging and holding out tatics.
I personally like those rules and prefer they were implemented, since it will make the fights more fun, but i guess some ppl will be at disavantage with them right?

Just as a few words of wisdom to you, ES was the only Squad who implemented a major amount of stalling tactics. In their fight with both S and TK, they were strictly on the defensive, struggling to stay alive while the other team was beating them down the entire time, hence why they lost both of their fights. When TK fought S, the battle actually ended. Don't talk of not wanting stalling when your Squad was the biggest user of stalling tactics last time.

On a more important note, the spell which was discussed was never implemented. If Raise had been created, people would have been more prepared for the revival things. It was never created and put into shops so it would have been safe to assume there would be no revival spells in the battles, meaning Cure/Leaf Bracer could still be used to revive your teammates. I understand that you rarely think independently of the rules which are explicitly stated, but come on. Without Raise, how would Rae be allowed to implement a rule which was only discussed? The only official PvP rules in the discussion thread are those first 4, anyway. The other ones, as Rae said in the post, were merely ones he was thinking of implementing. :3 I honestly don't get why you would build your stats with a non-existent revival spell in mind.

Yes. Nothing has changed in terms of battle rules besides that they'll be called after 30 minutes instead of an hour.

Ok.
I am literally battling in the turf even as we speak.
And the sad thing is, I can type this. Because my opponent, is taking five minutes to make his move.

And I know Rae said this is trial and error, so I should be able to say my opinion.

I thought this whole 30 minutes deal was a great idea...
Until my very first match, when I got to go about a total of 10 times.

Which brings me to this;
If we have to keep it at thirty, at least squads should agree to let members fight who don't have a crappy internet connection, or can actually pay attention.

If you can only go about 10 times, there is no strategy really, it's just who can kill who fastest.

Either that, or make it longer.

I'm thinking that the 30 minutes should be changed into 30 rounds. That way there can be no stalling instituted. :3 Every player will get 30 actions and then the battle ends. I feel that would be fair.

In a 2v2 fight, turns would take about 10-20 seconds each, and 1 round (on average) would = 4 turns, so 40-80 seconds for a round. o.o That ends up as 4800-9600 seconds for the full thing, not including the invites... >_>

Huh. 80-160 minutes; 1h:20m - 2h:40m.

Interesting. As long as people don't take forever to make moves, it could be done in about 3 hours. Much better than the 6 hours of today. >_>
