The epic question that everyone is happy to hear asked (except maybe Neo Ragnarok)--Do the players of the Inferno want to reprise the older lovable Pets of the Inferno, or would they like to fend of the evil forces alongside infamous faces like Donald Duck, the street-rat-turned-prince Aladdin, or the fluffy emo, The Beast as well as a few expected faces such as Disney retainer Shamdeo, the fairy personification of evil, Maleficent, or everyone's favorite phenomenal, cosmic Genie.

and to repeat myself from another thread:

Post your opinions, suggestions, snide comments, and whatever else you feel like throwing at this thread.

Now on to the first suggestion of the thread:

In all honesty, I'm, more or less, a casual player of the Inferno, and will probably continue to be so as the reset proceeds; I just take a keen interest in how these type things work. With that said, I have not achieved much in the game and I haven't even considered getting a pet. One trade-off I can suggest (as opposed to saying that I want this to happen) is to hold off on pets until the end of chapters.

Go through the chapter story entirely, then attain a pet while in wait and backtrack through special events and the like. Keep in mind that in proceeding through into the chapter, all pets would probably be lost, or so I think...Pets would be expanded on and implemented as somewhat of a sidequest, perhaps netting a sweet reward to those who tame/train/breed them well enough before moving on.
(Double Post Action)

Again, if you chose a option that suggest that you have a suggestion, then suggest! Otherwise, it's not gonna matter too much if you wanted to see both of them worked in the game.

...Oh...lmao.

That tells me that:
  1. You have something in mind already, and
  2. You are going use this topic to tell us about it, and if you're not entirely sure then you're going to need help brainstorming...?

and did you get my PMs?

Pets keep the game unique while everyone who choose to have an ally would get it. I say availability. Keep pets on but if players what allies, they will drop their pets.

It R means that both will be in New Inferno >.>? <.< But anyway, I have talked to Neo about Pets in new inferno so I do know a bit about what will be happening. But anyway. My thoughts on it would be to allow pets from about the beginning of game, but let players have allies or partners whichever you would like to call them every so often. You could choose between the two. Play how you want to. If you want to just do allies then play with just them. If you want to use a pet the whole time. Then do that. >.>

Sadly, that isn't possible. I would like something like this. Being able to use pet or partner and not having to completely get rid of the one.... Don't want to train pet again after I get/use a partner XP

A thought; compensation for losing a pet after gaining an ally:

Sell/Give pet that are already at an initially high level, along with pets that are Level 1. To save players the trouble of having to re-buy and re-teach Arts/Sleights, there are also several alternatives:
  • Make Art and Sleight items that are reuseable, similar, but not identical, to the enchantment items of the current Inferno.
  • The purchased higher level pet initially come with abilities that suit the place they are bought.

Example: A level 25 Chocobo bought at Agrabah was 'bred' to know the trademark Choco Kick, as well as a few other moves like Choco Heal, and being from Agrabah, the Chocobo has a small Fire Resistance and knows Fire/Blizzard...

I believe that may compensate enough for the loss of pets by partners

Pet spells will have very low (and easy to reach) level caps to them. In addition, any extra universal Pet/Ally spells you gain will be able to be received over and over again for free in case you ever switch pets. Unfortunately, they'll be able to be learned by Allies as well, sooo there won't be too many of them. I don't think anyone would really want high level pets. They'll gain less AP so that means they're MUCH less customizable. A level 1 Pet will suck, but will also gain EXP if it survives the fight or not.

Retraining sleights isn't hard really, and training spells doesn't take much effort really :3 Especially if they cap at level 5.

Having pets and NPC Partners are great. Easier to win battles, but that also mean he won't be as strong as those Players who can win single handedly.

Depends.

As a matter of fact, pets can be just as strong as players, and NPCs can be stronger than the player can be when you recruit them. O.o <.<
