Rep Power: 10 ![]() Level: 23 EXP: | Alas, this is it. The day of reckoning. I hinted at this post earlier this week in the Veteran thread, and here it is. The moment of truth. Many of you probably have read the thread about the new version of the Inferno due out "when it's done" which for all we know could be a month, or a year, or even a decade from now. Alright, it probably won't be that long before it's released, but it'll end up giving the Inferno team a lot of new toys to play with. Toys which we are very excited as a team for. Since the release of Chapter 2 back in October, the Inferno has gone through many changes. D Athier and myself were made team members, and everything from weapons to bosses to magics to NPCs were added, tweaked, prodded, and for the most part, fixed. The talk right now is all about the next Chapter, Chapter 3. When is it going to be released? When will it be done? What new things are we to expect? Well, I have an answer for you about the status of Chapter 3. It won't be completed. I know, this is hard for some of you to hear, but the Inferno will be reset. I know there will be a variety of mixed feelings about this, ranging from happiness to utter horror, but I assure you that it is done in the best interest of each and every one of our loyal players. We're very glad everyone has so far enjoyed the current Inferno... and if you enjoyed that... you'll really enjoy what we have planned. For the past month or more the team has been cooking up a brand new plot, and brand new game mechanics that we can't wait to roll out at you. In fact, we were going to get ready to change over to the new game quickly, but then we got word about the Inferno 3.1. We decided that once it is out, we will officially be restarting the Inferno. I promised many of you that we would never reset the Inferno and force you to play the same thing over again. We will be keeping that promise. For details on what to expect, please see the questions below. Anything and everything you need to know about the reset can be found in the questions below. To skip to a question, please open the find part of your browser (Control + F) and type the letters/numbers you see in the brackets. Why is the Inferno being Reset? [0001] When is the Inferno being Reset? [0002] How does the Reset effect me? [0003] What will the Inferno be like after the Reset? [0004] Why should I come back to the Inferno? [0005] Will you tell us more details about the new Inferno in planning? [0006] [0007] <-- end of the questions [0001] Why is the Inferno being Reset? Why would we do this to you players who have logged many long hours making friends, gathering shards, making munny, buying equipments, and most of all training magics? Quite honestly, because the game in its current state is rather broken. Due to oversights in the construction of Chapter 1, the game first started to become unbalanced. Mainly due to the previous amount of interest the banks gave out every day caused players to become exceedingly wealthy in an extremely short amount of time. This will continue to unbalance the entire game. If you look at my personal bank account you'll see what I mean. I haven't added munny to my account once since I've been on team, and I have over 100,000,000 munny. This has been a problem for a long time. Secondly, the magic system has been tweaked and changed so many times... and quite honestly it still sucks. I've changed the numbers so many times on the spells that I know them all nearly by heart. There would need to be major changes done to the workings of the Inferno in general in order to balance out the magic issue. Being given merely 3 HP/MP per AP is just simply too low, and the MP costs are too high for them to be useful. In addition to this, weapons and armors are getting so broken that some players have insane amounts of enchantments on weapons because of how many times I have tweaked their stats. Even today there are still some balance issues with a few weapons and magics. Finally, this is a problem I know everyone over let's say 30 is extremely annoyed with: AP allocation. How irritating is it to have 500+ AP and have to move it nearly one point at a time? It's way too time consuming and I feel it is draining the fun from the Inferno. Fear not, in 3.1 there will be a new and improved way to move around AP that is much better than spam clicking 300 times. It boils down to this: The current Inferno is simply not as fun as we hoped it would be. There have been so many cheats and broken segments of the game that had been exploited that the game itself has become unbalanced. When the game is unbalanced, the game isn't fun. Some of the regulars may have noticed my personal lack of showing up in Deep Jungle like I used to... it's basically because I feel bad that you guys have to deal with this. [0002] When will the Inferno be Reset? Let's move on to better things. The reset. Yes, it will be coming. No, it will not happen for a while. This means you should stop training magics to extremes and stop working your butt off to pay for that shiny new sword. This does not mean you should stop coming to the Inferno to fight and converse as you have been since we opened last May. We want you guys to stick around, and there will be new things hopefully finding their way into the current Inferno in the coming weeks that will keep everyone happy. As for the official date, the Inferno team will announce it before it actually happens. We wanted to give you all warning as soon as possible so that you aren't blindsided by this happening.[0003] How does the Reset effect me? Basically everything about your current Inferno character will be gone. For good. There is no undoing a reset. All the magics you've trained, pets you've bought, weapons you've used, everything will be gone. In its place you'll get a brand new character and get to start from scratch. This is obviously the crappy part of the reset to be sure. We wish it didn't have to be this way, but it happens to be a necessary evil unfortunately. However, the Reset will effect you positively as well. When the Inferno comes back live you'll have a new story to experience, new weapons to collect, and a few new surprises that we won't be telling you about just yet. The new Inferno will be nothing like the current one. It will be much more interesting. That is something you can count on. [0004] What will the Inferno be like after the Reset? Well, it'll be brand spanking new. New game mechanics, new magic configurations, new ways to improve your character. There will be so many new and different ways of doing things that you'll end up with a much more customizable character that you currently do. A few logistical changes we are deciding upon are as followed:
These are only a few of the changes we intend to implement. We'll also be looking for you, our community, to have a say in how you want the Inferno to be changed up. We'll be looking for a lot of user based input as we strive towards the final product. For those who do end up sticking around the Inferno, there will be ways to get a jumpstart on the reset in order to get some extra cash/rare items when the new Inferno will be released. We will be telling you details on how to qualify for those rewards in the coming weeks. [0005] Why should I come back to the Inferno? If you enjoyed our current Inferno even slightly, you'll really want to come back to see the changes that will be made to it. However we aren't sure exactly when you'll be able to see some of the changes. Hopefully it won't be forever, but right now the team is most certainly waiting on the completion of the Inferno 3.1 in order to begin to remake the Inferno. There are many new features we wish to take full advantage of, including the elemental system, new acp additions, and other things yet to be revealed. In the end, the choice of playing is up to you, of course, but we hope to see many familiar faces when the Inferno finally is relaunched, whenever that is. [0006] Will you tell us more about the new Inferno in planning? Yes, but in due time. As Super Smash Brothers Brawl had their Dojo, explaining piece by piece what the game was going to contain, so we will do for our new Inferno. That thread should go live by the end of this coming week, or the beginning of next week. We'll be revealing piece by piece what the new Inferno will contain, as well as secrets being added to the current Inferno to keep everyone content while we wait for the completion of the Inferno 3.1. If you have enjoyed the Inferno so far, I am rather sure you'll end up loving what we do when the Inferno recovers from this Reset. [0007] If you have any questions or concerns about this Reset, please post here. Only questions pertaining to what has been said here will be allowed. Any posts like "Awesome!" or "This is bogus!" will be deleted. Please keep a mature discussion here. The team will be more than willing to answer any and all questions about this event, since it will undoubtedly be a rather large event for our Inferno community. And also, inb4 tl;dr |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: 11 EXP: | SO this was the famous A.W.E.S.O.M.E project I have been hearing about... On a players stand point I am not outraged I am a good player who uses tons of magics and I have been complaining about it for awhile now. And for all you that would get mad think about it... this is the perfect time for mods to be creative and to give out some really unique stuff... also a time to wrap up some matches and not to worry about later or defeating that chapter boss. It's actualyl an oportunity for the inferno to be really flexibe with stuff. Also a time where anything could happen and good things could show up. It'll keep you busy until the 3.1 you know? And it'll help you have more fun and not worry about anything in the inferno :P Don't fret it's good a better battle system will be inplace and special quests will just show up out of nowhere. Also there is a clan event coming soon just for fun. pretty much use this time as practice or preperation/fun never know it might be helpful or soemthing. So pay attention to the shops because the mods can REALLY do anything with this RPG now you know o.O *become an item collector!!!* |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: EXP: | Wow....didn't see this coming. As upsetting as this is, I personal think this is the right think to do. Bringing a new start will see new things. I'm really looking forward to it. I just have one questions which I dont know if can be answered or not. Don't worry if you can't but just tell me if you can't. Can you tell us what the vertrans will be getting come the reset, or will everyone who's not have to wait and find out. Actually one more aswell, will the completion of chapter 2 give any advantages in the reset. I know nothing will be traded over but you said that: Quote:
Anyway all the best and looking forward to the news on the new 'system'.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: 15 EXP: | Hmmm....I dont want to be reset, but if the Inferno is as bad right now as you and D say, then a reset looks to be the perfect option. All in all,id acutally really enjoy starting it over.I mean id like it to just happen so we all could get to our lvs again(hopefully),but I also dont want to have to go through another reset when 3.1 comes out. |

I must say that I am overly and insanely excited for the reset. I'm actually kinda sick of having so much fricking munny and nothing useful to spend it on. Oh, and one question, would it be at all possible for that one last magic tweak I asked you about last night to make it in before the reset? It would be really helpful to the strategy I intend to go with for the rest of these tourneys that are popping up. And maybe 1/2 would be better than 1/4. >_> <_< PS. ![]()

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: 12 EXP: | i like this idea because when the inforneo resets i hope it will be good on people who like to use magic and physical attacks, and i hope the bosses are a little easier, it will also be good because we can all be the same lvs so we can understand where we are and help eachother out, no oe person will be better than another |

| †The Jack of all Trades† | Meh, Tidus and Wakka aren't hard and Ryu was made harder by Neo because he was too easy. People could get through an EARTH boss using Strength, which made no sense. Now he can have around 900 Def >.> No one can strength bust through that. None of the bosses until Ryu (now .-.) and the birdy guy (Also made by Neo) are difficult at all. If you can beat a boss with 3-400 strength and no defenses, It. Is. Too. Easy. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: 12 EXP: | true but if u use magic and physical attacks then everything is harder for you, so i hope the inforneo will be easier on those who like both and use both |
