I started watching death note since the show started here in the U S and its AWSOME. every time i watch an episode i cant wait for the next one. this show all ways has me at the edge of my seat, because there are so many things happening.

Ok, I DL the file and I must say...never read it before but it was ok at best.

[spoiler]It was ok I guess but at least Near had a point in saying about what Kira and L's battle was really about and
not a mockery like the current case. It was pathetic when the Kira followers were asking to die.[/spoiler]

1. He decided to fight against L and killed Lind B. Taylor
and
2. He decided to trust anyone besides himself to do his bidding. If you're a God, you don't need people to do stuff for you, BECAUSE you're God.

[spoiler]I say he lost because his opponent was L.
L was a step ahead nearly the entire time.
The only reason Near was able to finally bring Light down was because of L's work.
The only reason L didn't take Light down is because of Rem.
If Rem doesn't kill L, L would have eventually beaten Light.
This is all assuming Light didn't eventually give in to Ryuk's offer for the Shinigami Eyes.
Light made a whole ton of mistakes along the way.
Minor ones to be sure, but they eventually added up to the big picture that L all but saw moments before his unfortunate death.[/spoiler]

Quite true, Light made a whole of mistake if, you reread the manga or rewatch the anime. He had to think before making a choice of all possible outcomes and how it would make him looks towards whether "Is Light Yagmai Kira?" My god, you watch it, and he did a lot of stupid shit that caused him to be caught. Every now and then when, I open an episode watch it, I see them.

If we are going to go with reasons like that, let's just say that Light lost as soon as he was born. Or we could just go so far back as to when time began.

From what I can tell, had Mikami not slipped up, Light would have won.
