A Studio Ghibli film made by Hayao Miyazaki's son, Gorō Miyazaki. In my opinion it didn't match Spirited Away or any of the other films the Studio has brought out BUT it was really good overall and a great way to launch yourself in the anime film career. Gorō Miyazaki did a great job imo.

Though, it's obvious that Miyazaki's son isn't at his father's level. IMO, the pacing is what killed it. I think he tried too hard to mimic Miyazaki.

Maybe because Miyazaki's son wasn't as good as his father?
Or it could have been originality....

I liked the film, the beginning sequence with the two dragons was beautiful.
But yeah, give Goro some time and perhaps he'll get better. | |

Take a look at the anime scenes from Tales of Legendia. Those definitely don't look like Miyazaki style scenes.

Goro Miyazaki's debut movie, Gedo Senki(Tales from Earthsea), topped the list for worst movie of 2006, and he also won the award for worst director.

Hilarious.

Still, I watched this a few months ago. It was alright, but Goro definitely hasn't reached his father's level. I'm interested to see how that may change over time though.

Read them back home and yeah I enjoyed them a lot, still one of my favorite series of all time. Which is why I'm not sure whether to watch this or not.
