Cowboy Bebop Continuation, If and How.

Back in the 90’s most anime series were short in comparison to what they have now with 100+ episodes and that was fine, some good series are known for having only a good amount of episodes. Examples of which, Outlaw Star, Trigun, FLCL, Big O to only name a few, and only the only one on that list that even had a second season was Big O.

I might be playing towards and older crowd but seeing as how I am hearing more and more about a Cowboy Bebop Live action movie I began thinking about the old series. The 26 awesome episodes and anime movie were works of art that enticed anyone who saw them. Now I read on Wikipedia (so I have no idea if this is even true) that Shinichiro Wanatabe was quoted in saying that “someday... maybe, someday” there would be a continuation of Cowboy Bebop and that got me thinking if it was even possible to make a continuation of Cowboy Bebop. Know I will be the first to say that there was nothing wrong with the original series and if it were left alone I would have no qualms about it. My simple question is if they made a second season of Cowboy Bebop how would they do it?

Here is my rendition on how, if even possible, they could make a continuation of the series. Know first (and I realize I will be getting many hate comments for this) I believe to still hold true to not only the essence of the show as a space opera but also to the edginess of the series, Spike must remain dead. Yes I said it dead and do not be fooled it is with a heavy heart that I say this. I would be too unrealistic even for this series and it would give the whole last series no meaning. Spike found his love, he lost it and he got revenge. That was what he wanted that was how he wanted to live his life and if he were to live, it wouldn’t feel right.

For the new series, I believe that a new character must be introduced, and this is where the fun comes in. This character while physically different from spike, hair, eyes, height, weight, etc. He reminds us a lot of the green haired cowboy we know and love. He could still be a great fighter, crack shot, and a superb pilot and all the while retains a fresh feeling that even though he is so much like Spike he’s not. Towards the beginning it would have to be that he would meet Jet on some planet while Jet is hot on a bounty. However it turns out that this new Cowboy is also after the same bounty. Now Jet at first will probably not even care for the Cowboys existence but after some firefight. Jet begins to see an almost eire simularity to spike in this kid, almost the same way we did with Andy in episode 22.

Jet invites the kid on to the bebop and from there they are back to the old Bebop we know and love so much Jet and the kid back on bounty hunting. They could run into Ed, Ein, and Faye (this is assuming that Faye did not stay with Jet I could be possible that she did) and they could either join back with the bebop or just make a cameo appearance. The swordfish II could come back saying that Jet inherited it seeing as how spike never had a will to speak of (Again assuming).

Know I will admit as for a main story as in one that follows along the same lines as Spike, Julia and Vicious I am not sure how it could play out but I think that this alone will stimulate your minds into thinking if or how a new Cowboy Bebop can be done. I will looking forward to seeing your ideas or just hearing about how Spike didn’t die.

There's this thing. Called a story. A GOOD story is a perfect triangle. Beginning, middle, end. As in no sequel. That's just dragging it on for reasons that ruin the originality.

naw a movie for cowboy beebop would be like that one dragonball movie. stupid and pointless. it's only redeeming qualities would be the hot actress in the movie. also is ed a boy or a girl?

They won't do more with this unless they do a movie. Which i rather see movies than them try to lie to us about how Spike didn't die.

Why's everyone so against another season of Cowboy Bebop? I'd really like another season. This is what I thought might happen.

Spike is rushed to the hospital and saved. He spends a month or so in jail for blowing up the building and killing members of the group Vicious was in. One day there's a prison break and Spike gets set free with help from the original escapee. He or she has a ship and they set out to another planet where friends of the escapee are waiting. Jet and Faye get word of a bounty on Spike and head out after him and maybe along the way Spike or Jet and Faye meet Ed and Ein and she teams up with one of them.

The escapee is part of a corporation that is trying to seize power in the void left by Vicious' death. They are against another company run by someone else from Spikes past and it isn't known if they're a friend or enemy until he meets that person.

That's all I got.

I have read that their is a movie for this anime ?? I guess they would make a movie different from the manga and anime right ? Or just close to it ?

Please no. Spike wouldn't be arrested cause the members of the syndicate would have either hid him or just not allowed police in the building.

Also, no goddammit we do not need a continuation. The series ended perfectly and there's no need to do anything more to it.

It would be nice to see Spike up and kicking again. It was probably his laid back attitude that made him cool, along the fact that he's one my favorite antiheroes.
