ANYWAY.... i loved the VN. and i liked how the anime's art looked 8D

I know there was a topic on Umineko a while back, but I cannot remember. Also, the search engine is busted as it cannot locate any crap you want it to.

I rather enjoyed Umineko so far, and it's currently fighting Higurashi for its place. Why? Umineko was great because it included more adult and a realistic portrayal of a rich family. I loved the first two episodes, because it gave a bit more depth into the adults, who were bickering and arguing about what to do with the inheritance.I quite liked Maria, I don't see what the problem is because they are what they are. She's being bashed like a whiny teenager.

The music so far are really just remix and rehashes of music from the video-games series. But alas; my favourite character of Umineko is: Kanon.

And I personally love Maria. :3 She's adorable and seems to me like a deep character.
I also need to finish Higurashi. x3;; I like it more than Umineko, though, but the mindfuck drives me crazy. Rena~.<3

That picture just screams "Objection!". I finally realised that the anime had come out and I downloaded all 7 episodes released, it's pretty good so far. Episode 7 makes the series appear more promising. I was wondering if Umineko was going to follow the same thing as Higurashi, and it appears so, albeit with a different twist.

I haven't seen Umineko yet, sadly. I got as far as the first three minutes of the show (not counting the opening) then I was dragged off and I came back home with my internet busted. Then every day after that has been spent out with people.

I thought I'd "play" the "games" of Umineko. I must say, they're really just novels. No gameplay at all. But there is so much infomation in them. I'm surprised how the squeezed the first game into 5 episodes. Music is pretty awesome as well. I really want to download it. I've just started the second game, so I'm looking forward to how well the anime compresses all the story for the second game.

on another note is it the video files or studio deen's animation that makes every frame blurry as fuck

Well Studio Deen has already made an error in the animation during one of the episdoes. A piece of Genji's shirt is missing clearly showing the background. Anyway, as for the blurriness, I haven't really noticed it.

I'm disappointed with episode 8 of the anime. They rushed over too much stuff, and the whole episode doesn't really give you time to set into the atmosphere of each scene. Not to mention the battle of the Chapel between Battler and Beatrice was more longer and epic in the novels. As of now, I prefer the novels. I just hope they get the epicness at the end of the second novel right. That shit was awesome.

That battle is actually pretty cool in the novel. There is actually three fights I've come across so far. One in the second story and two in the third story. But I must say, the third one is epic. I need to finish reading the third one.

edit: this series is losing appeal with the battler vs. beatrice mental dimensional w/e arguments

first of all it would be nice if battler could respond in any way besides ">:C"

on that note some actual debating would be neat, contrary to "this is what i think. you're wrong. >:C."

also this one is minor but turning the chessboard is a homosexual catchphrase and i wish i could not hear it 3 times per episode

The opening is very good even though it doesn't have quite the impact of the audio novel opening song.

I'd guess it's the source video. I don't remember Higurashi looking as bad as Umineko has so far, but I guess that doesn't really mean anything since I'm assuming the animation staff is different.

See, the whole thing about Battler trying to disprove Beatrice's existence and magic bothers me. I thought he was going to try to disprove the original crime, but if Beatrice is just making a whole new situation, uh, what's the point? You'd figure the fact that he's seeing a completely different series of events from a frozen time dimension with a witch who speaks with red words would tell him that something not quite normal is going on.

tl;dr battler is fifteen kinds of denial and he makes my head hurt

Yes it is.

In other news, that Touhou reference in episode six wasn't even subtle.



Also, I wish Bernkastel looked more like she did in Higurashi, but again, I imagine a different group of animators at DEEN are probably to blame for that. I'm just glad to see her at all really.
