The funny thing about that post is that you make it out to be a very uncommon anime.... Why would you watch Shippuuden first, I started that first and didn't get a thing besides the fact I felt that I was missing half the story. Persnal thing I guess.

I agree with this... Its a very common Japense anime much like Dbz and bleach . Shit its not even that Original narutos personality is pretty much stripped right off goku right down to narutos signature colors (blue and orange same as goku)....The only thing thats diffrence Is goku dos'nt get his ass kicked every episode.

Just because it is popular, doesn't mean it is good. If you want to watch something about ninjas, I'd suggest Nabari no Ou. (If you do want to check it out, read the manga. The anime is horrendous.)

And another manga I'd suggest would have to be Amatsuki. Reason? Well, even though it is an irregularly-released manga (which could be quite irksome at times), it has a wonderful plot and some good characters.

Its actually one of the few anime I can think of in which they do a decent dub of it.
