I know that the Manga continues on after the anime ends, so what is the Manga actually about?

Is it the same story, or is it different?

Actually, no. While the manga and anime both have some differences in the beginning, many of the same events occur. However, some time after Ed and Al go to Laboratory 5, that is when the two really branch off from one another.

Manga and Anime, almost two totally different things......I liked the anime, up until the movie. I like the manga more though, it is closer to the cow's heart.

[spoiler]He died like 3 times near the end.
One time was when Envy killed him, the second was when he was on the other side
and he died under the balloon thing when Al was bringing him back,
he went back through the gate, and the third time was when he went to Germany for the movie,
he brought his brother back again, and went though the gate yet again.
He passed through the gate 3 times in the series.[/spoiler]
