I don't know. I think young Sozin might have chosen different life paths, but old Sozin probably wouldn't have cared.

Sozin thought that the war would better the world if it advanced as the Fire Nation did but it all twisted when his fears of the avatar came into play (because he killed Roku he slaughtered the air nomads because he didn't want the avatar reincarnated). Honestly Sozin probably wouldn't have chosen differently if he saw the progress of the fire nation in Ozai's time. Younger Sozin was cool but older Sozin was a dick.

There are no truer words. Seriously though. War was such a stupid thing to pick. From the looks of it, everyone kind of liked everyone. Now the fire nation hates the others and vice-versa. If he truly wanted progress for the rest, he should've gone a different route.

Even at first, I don't think Sozin truly believed he was fighting for the good of the world. It seemed more like an excuse to give the Fire Nation's more control in the world.

Well to me it seemed like he felt the Fire Nation was progressing rapidly and the world was stuck in the past, not to mention he had recently become the Fire Lord, and his best friend was now a fully realized Avatar. He could have honestly felt he was bettering the world by making the Fire Nation's influence spread but like other leaders, the power and lust for control blinded him from what was really important. Sozin seemed like an upright person from his youth to me at least.

Still, his actions later in life pretty much undid any promise or virtue he had when young.

All we know is Korra is coming out mid 2012; there's been a huge leak of scans from the graphic novels first volume 'The Promise' though.

I've been meaning to buy the series from my local-ish DVD store for some time now, but they only sell a few volumes from Book One. And they placed them in the Anime section, no less...

I get this urge very often. That's why I got the 3 season box sets. It's so nice being able to just marathon the series whenever I feel like it and in perfect quality.

I've been meaning to get that. I do watch it on Netflix right now, but I won't have it forever. And it'd be nice to watch it somewhere that doesn't require internet connection.
