LOK news
its a cast list
'The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra': Exclusive Cast Announcement - Speakeasy - WSJ
Wow, I only know three people on that cast list.
The guy from the Closer/Juno/Spiderman/a bunch of other movies and shows I like, the old guy...and the Korean guy.
Since the guy from the Closer is going to be Tezin, I'm guessing he is somewhere in his 40s...
Hiroshi Sato will be my favorite character and I know he is a firebender. I KNOW IT.
What happened to Meeko? Was he replaced by Jinora? Or did he transform into Mako (Tsunami...YGO has brainwashed me since I was a child) Or is he just not listed...
Seychelles is Yue from the movie that shall not be named. But she was one thing I liked from the movie so I'm excited to see what Asami is like.
-just wants to know who these people are-
After reading this, I'm sure this new advanced civilization will break down that method of learning how to bend and make it a different way.
Byrke hinted in their notes that Aang isn't the last one, but he is the only one that is active; and also that being able to bend is a part genetic/part spiritual thing. I'm sure if there are enough light-hearted and free-spirited people (like Teo and his friends and family), airbending will return soon enough.Although in a change of subject how did they manage to kill all the airbenders in the world? Surely some must have escaped. Oh well... poor air benders.
I would like for them to make a series before The last air bender at some point or a series which isn't about an Avatar. I can dream...
But on the matter of them being killed; they aren't hard to miss (considering their eye color and demeanor) and they are trained to be detached from the human world, while helping anybody in need. They will offer themselves up in order to protect others, so I imagine most of them died trying to protect somebody.
Flail with me!
Actually, that whole anti-bending technologically advanced city thing reminds me of this concept from one of those Avatar games for the PS2, where the main antagonist was some mechanist who sought to use machines to replace benders and whatnot. Hmmmm...

I refuse to not be hyped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
call me weird but she intrigues me even though i know little to nothing about this woman.I'm more interested in what other characters will be in the series (It was nice to see some names at least). I am not too interested in Korra right now for me to get too hyped, maybe when we get more info on her.
I'd imagine that despite being free spirited nomads, there regular places were sort of common (like the air temples) and what not, plus the fire nation did kill them by way of ambush. But a few of the nomads could have been out and about and survived in other nations sans the fire, cuz Aang did say he ventured to the other nations and this was before he knew he was the avatar seeing how like a couple days later he runs away.Although in a change of subject how did they manage to kill all the airbenders in the world? Surely some must have escaped. Oh well... poor air benders.
I dunno why but that concept sounds weird to me. :/ I mean I'm sure they can find a way to make it work and even make it pretty awesome but I can't imagine...I would like for them to make a series before The last air bender at some point or a series which isn't about an Avatar. I can dream...
:O *epic flails*
I remember that. I didn't play the game myself but I remember hearing of it. Hmmmm...

Daniel Dae Kim is on the show?!
As a huge Lost fan this is good news. And he was on the original Avatar show. He played the guy in the first episode of the second season that forced Aang into his Avatar state.
But you could've just posted this in the TLA thread. We were talking about it in there.

I wonder if they are gonna change...because apparently there are more airbenders if Korra is supposed to learn airbending...then again it is the name of the show...

excuse the double post but just a bump
Mistake on my part, it's still only 12 confirmed episodes but they may be pressing for more Latest News:
'The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra:' The Creators Speak
There's also additional things that the Creators answer and talk about.
Korra's 16 or 17ish :O and the original cast will "appear in various ways"
the villain has confirmed to be a male anti-bending revolutionary type guy.
I've said it once I'll say it again...GET HYPED!!!

I can see where you're coming from, but I just think it would be interesting to see the world before the war started at some point. :)
Thats just what I thought. XD
Still not too interested in Korra. I get the feeling I'm really going to miss young Aang, but I imagine I will still like Korra in the series.
Just not my kind of character.she’s very tough, very headstrong, not scared to get into a fight, and kind of picks fights with people too sometimes.
I will get hyped when we actually get closer to the series being aired. I know the pain of hyping too early XD
Do they have to keep mentioning the live action movie. :/
Aang is going to be oooooooooooold. Can you imagine him as an old man, helping Korra out? He has to crack some jokes or I'll be sad. D: I'm very interested in LoK but it's bittersweet with TLAB cast being... dead.
I'm excited for a complete departure from Aang, just because then it'll show they're not writing the same characters again. Hopefully Korra will show a soft spot and this show will gain great ratings so they'll have a longer series. I don't have cable, I can't help the ratings. ;___;
ALSO, I know right? Drop the stupid LA movie.
But every time they ask them I love the, "uh" and obvious "no-excitement" they have for the LA film.

I really can't imagine old Aang to tell the truth. Bye bye Sokka with your sarcasm and meat obsession. Bye Toph with your blindness and ruffness. Bye Zuko with your dorkiness and hot headed ways. Bye Katara with your motherly yet kind spirited heart. Bye Momo and Appa with your greatness. At least Aang will make some sort of appearance for sure. Bye Uncle iroh with your tea loving. D:
Hello characters I know nothing about at the moment.
New characters are always fun to get to know. ;D However many fans will probably compare them to Airbender series characters which could be a problem. The new war in the Avatar fandom. Airbender vs Korra to take the place of Kataang vs Zutara. XD Although I hope there isn't too much romance in the new series.I'm excited for a complete departure from Aang, just because then it'll show they're not writing the same characters again. Hopefully Korra will show a soft spot and this show will gain great ratings so they'll have a longer series. I don't have cable, I can't help the ratings. ;___;

Yes, you can just feel the awkwardness when those questions come up. XD
They really just want to skip them and never hear about the movie again.

<3 yeah I know what you mean. I'd have loved to here more about Kuzon too seeing how he would have been present during the whole start of the war and the whole adjusting to hating other nations :P
Idk why but I love Korra's character description so far. those characters have always interested me. the hot head, trigger happy, trouble maker but also the good guy who does the right thing at the end of the day.

This place is filled with so much flailing XD
I also just want a better view of the air benders as well. ^^ I think I've had enough earth kingdom for now isn't ot the place the majority of the series was set?
Maybe see the sourthern water tribe a bit more before it was turned into well what it is now. (A very small makeshift village)
I also wanted to see Kuzon in flashback in the Airbender series, why didn't it happen. T_T Just one tiny flashback or maybe seeing Aang's friends reaction to him disappearing. At least Bumi got to see him again. :D
Generally for me its when a character is described as Hot headed, fiesty and rebelious is the point when alarm bells go off in my head that I might not like the character a lot. XD I like the opposite... Aang. ;P I will still wait until we see Korra before passing any judgements on her, who knows I may end up loving her to pieces.
