technically the characters aren't asian so the producers don't HAVE to get asian actors -- as long as they look like the characters [which, believe it or not, they do], the producers can do as they please
but believe me believe me i don't disagree with you. you make a good point about casting discrimination, and yes, they probably SHOULD have gotten asian actors to play aang, sokka, and katara. it's just that you're fighting a losing fight. the characters are never outright said to be asian, so it's not like the movie producers are going to get in any lasting trouble for this.

Arctic Inuit Native Americans in Olden Times for Kids - Lessons, Activities, Games
Actually.....
That link proves you wrong.
Alright calm down its not that serious.

Can you give me a link for that?
The Inuit are recognized by Canada's constitution as a Distinctive group of Canadian Aboriginals separate from the the First Nations or the Metis. The Inuit Circumpolar Council, A U.N recognized nongovernmental organization, represents Canada's Inuit and Inuvialuit Greenland's Kalaallit Inuit; Alaska's Inupiat and Yu'pik people, and the Siberian Yupik people of Russia.
The Characters are Inuit. That's what I said. I'm mad because they're played by white people.
I really liked the series but i'm not seeing the movie because of -Insert "Paramount made a bunch of douche moves and racebending, etc. etc. I don't really feel like getting into anything rn"- even though I want to support Dev Patel since he's awesome/a good actor.
...Anyways, has anyone heard anything new about Legend of Korra? Or is everything still under wraps and such?

You wrote indigenous before and in that post you wrote aboriginal. Do you seriously not know what those words mean? They mean native. The information is on the same Wikipedia page you're copy/pasting from. Don't call me an idiot. If you insult me, then I won't shy away from letting you know what a real idiot is. I don't care why you're mad. What I do care about is your insulting and condescending attitude directed at me.
Oh Yeah! I just read something about that, The creators Mike DiMartino and Brian Konietzko told fans at a book signing at a comic book store in LA recently that, While they couldnt talk about Legend Of Korra at the book signing, that we can expect an announcement soon, Hopefully before Comic Con.
Ok, I know its not much but I was excited to hear it anyway :)

I know what those words mean. I know what I said. They're not called Native Americans. They're called Inuit.
From Wikipedia:
'In Canada and Greenland, the Inuit circulated almost exclusively north of the "Arctic tree line", the de facto southern border of Inuit society. The most southern Inuit community in the world is Rigolet[18], Newfoundland. To the south, Native American cultures were well established. The culture and technology of Inuit society that served so well in the Arctic were not suited to subarctic regions, so they did not displace their southern neighbours.'
You called me a cunt. All the references are at the bottom of the page. Have fun.

@simple7cleanxiii: I know! I'm really excited, I'm hoping that The Legend of Korra stays with Avatar Aang because I want to know about what he does as a fully realized Avatar. I feel like there's so much more of his story to hear about. And I definitely want to know about Ursa.
Just because they're natives of wherever they're from doesn't mean they're Native Americans, because they're not necessarily from America. =P
It's kind of like calling all black people African-Americans, actually. From impart's post, the group being referred to includes people from Greenland and Russia, to whom the name "Native American" wouldn't apply.
