Well, the first scene was meant to give a glimpse at where the series was heading, but not meant to be take as absolute prediction. Actually, you could also consider it to be an alternate universe as well.

Well, I'm about as far off as you are. When I had first started watching the series, I thought it was Kamina's father, since we never knew anything about him.

I have just finished recently finished this anime also. I can completely agree with you the show was epic to the max and back again. Proballly one if not the best anime i have seen.

First part of anime = Kick ass.

Middle part of anime = Slow and boring

Last two-three-four episodes = Excellent

Entire series = Most awesome :D

Kamina = Manliest Man evar.

Also, for the dub cast listing, all I care about is Kamina's >__> I'm not sure if he was a good choice or not, since I can't remember his voice in any of the roles he's been cast for.
