gurren is regarded as flcl's spiritual successor in the sense of how over-the-top and ****ing crazy shit gets in both series. however, just because the two are similar in respects of how ****ing what they approach plot development, gurren lagann posessed a comprehensible super robo storyline, wheras flcl's plot was primarily inconsistent and didn't quite follow into any kind of anime genre whatsoever. (mahou shoujo? possibly)

but otherwise, the increase in slowpoke gurren fans is kinda annoying, so i'll use this opprotunity to say that gurren lagann would lose in a drill fight against getter 2.

I finally got to watch this show english dub (Olympics what could I do) and despite being behind (I believe 7 episodes) I love it. Its got that really over the top feel but thats what makes it cool. It makes me feel that I should give it my all at anything. I like that attack Giga Drill Breaker. And yet despite just getting into it, I got a feeling Kamina was a awesome guy before he died.

I'm going to watch it from the begining and just watch it from the eng subs starting tonight before I go back to college. It might raise up my spirits.:mellow:

I just started to watch this anime, yes it started with the dub, but after watching Kamina's death, I'm going to move on to the subs, I do not possibly have the time to wait every monday. Btw, Kamina's death was fitting......kinda, I'd rather him die actually die from the sneak attack rather than after the Giga Drill Breaker move. It just seems like if Simon was able to pull that off after Kamina died during the sneak attack from Viral and that other guy whose name I forgot, then it'd be better.

So after a long marathon of watching this anime, I got to say: This anime goes into my favorite anime list. The last episode was just...epic. I wanted to yell "Who the hell do you think we are?!" but I didn't want my Mom to think I was going crazy. The ending was sad yet, sastifying.

I'll probably start reading the manga as well.:mellow:

The manga is more brutal from what I've heard.
