So now that the first month is over.

My store was always sold out of everything day of sale. I dident even get copies of Flash, Detective Comics, and some stuff. I went to 4 other shops in the city to hunt some books down (Suicide, Grifter, Demon Knights, Men of War) Mostly "Edge" and "Dark" titles. Still hunting down a first print copy of Detective.

2 books I picked up this week I have serious grips about. I Loved Firestorm Post Blackest Knight and into Brightest Day, I was kinda hoping "Fury of Firestorm" would lead into what we left off in at the end of Brightest Day but this seems to be a complete reboot of the Firestorm character. Im gonna read the first arc to see where ts going but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

Teen Titans was pretty cool but there never have been a team of teen heros bothers me for some reason. I would be okay if this book took place in the past but thats not the case.

I think after the first arc of books are over Im gonna stick manly to the "Dark" and "Edge" "SuperMan" "Green Lantern" and "Batman" lines.

This. 100000 times this. I had to go to two different comic book stores just to get Batman and Robin and Red Hood and the Outlaws because the store on campus didn't have them. I'm assuming they were sold out because I went and bought Batman the day after it was first released. They had TONS of Batman #1s, but nothing else. I'm still on the look out for Nightwing :(.

I finally got around to reading Red Hood and the Outlaws. I gotta say, I can understand both points in the arguments. I'm REALLY disappointed with how Starfire was handled, but Jason and Roy were lots of fun to read. It's just weird how Starfire comes off as an emotionless bonk machine in this, with no real attachment to anything in this world, making it really hard to get attached to her as a character. Her spending the majority of the comic showing at least 90% of her skin doesn't help things.
Side note: Jason is a bit of an asshole. Not sure I like that yet or not. Could be charming, could be annoying.

Liking Aquaman and Flash so far. Really looking forward to seeing what Geoff can bring to the table. Embracing Aquaman's embarrassing past is probably the best way he could have started this thing off.

And Spider-Man did great this week. Venom vs Antivenom was awesome, Spider-Island's going to great places (Is this in continuity with fear itself, because I noticed alot of Avengers/other characters in contradicting roles despite being in simultaneous releases, specifically Ben Grimm), and I'm liking Miles as the new Ultimate Spider-Man more and more. I won't say he's better than Peter Parker, but he's certainly being made into a very likable character, and I can see he's going to be a strong role model for his next generation of readers. Can't wait for the story with his uncle to come to a head.

Green Lantern: New Guardans has....possibly one of the strangest setups I've seen yet. No idea where this one's even trying to go.

Is the new Batgirl worth reading? I'm really interested in getting to know Batgirl's/Barbara Gordon's history.

Finally got my First print copy of Detective Comics. Only cost me $8 at one of the 5 stores I hit up yesterday. I had to spent atleast $50 on book yesterday just picking up stuff for my friends. Everywhere I went they all had Aquaman #1 as "Pick of the week" and I have to agree it was pretty great and was pretty funny.

Well I still have like 15 books to read to be finally caught up to make my final decision on some titles.

But Jason's always been an asshole. You either love it or you don't.

No it's really not. I didn't like it all that much compared to the other titles I've read.

Depends really. I found it enjoyable I was always a fan of Barbara's Batgirl so it was good to see her back in costume and zipping through the city. The main villain doesn't interest me at all I'm more interested in Barbara personally journey and how she manages to put the trauma behind her so she can do her job.

I just imagine Jason with Jensen's voice makes it much more enjoyable.

Batgirl was alright imo. The hilight was bringing in a phobia of guns, which in her line of work is going to be quite the huge obstacle.

And it works when he's a vengeful spirit who's on the wrong side of the law. But when he's "the good guy", it creates a whole nother context. But I get what you're saying. I'm just on the fence right now on whether I like him or not.

The way I see it, he's a crooked "good guy". He's been trying to rid Gotham of crime by feeding it right back to them; fight fire with fire. I don't think it would be appropriate for him to become less of an asshole than he already was nor do I want him to become even more than where he's at. It's a delicate balance right now. Can't make him too much of a dick seeing how it's a more lighthearted comic and you can't reduce what he already has because it's been established quite well already.

^Right. There's the likable asshole, and then there's a straight up jerk. Right now he's likable, but I'm still hesitant of what they might do with him. Especially as easily manipulated they made Starfire to be, and how Roy is just kinda...a follower at the moment.

Also you guys I just finished reading Hellboy: The Storm and Hellboy: The Fury. Seriously, anyone here who doesn't follow this series is doing themselves a huge disservice. Some of the best writing I've witnessed in so long. Mike Mignolla really knows how to bring epic events to a head. I was wondering how he could top the conclusion to Rasputin/Baba Yaga's story, but damn if he didn't pull it off.
    Spoiler Spoiler: Some sexy teasers

If you haven't gotten into Hellboy, it's one I can't recommend highly enough.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, Action Comics should be good. Static Shock left me in too much suspense last time, wonder what happen to him. Also, detective comics will be at least entertaining.
