Rep Power: 2 ![]() | I missed it!!! Damn!! I am so mad!!! T_T I wanted to see it so badly!! How much were tickets anyway? Was it good?!?!?!??!?!!?!?! oh and did Brad Swaile, who dubs Light in the anime, dub the voice for Light in the movie? It sounds a lot like him... Well, I am going to buy the DVD that's coming out on Sept. 16, 08!! Yay! I will watch it again and again and again and again and again and again. Forever. And read the Manga over and over and over and watch the Anime again and again. XD |

| Dangerous Illusionist | I had a feeling that the film being in theaters here would mean the DVD being released here as well. I'll likely be getting it. |

| Such a Dangerous Life. | Someone at my school told me it sucked. But I never got to go because it wasn't even playing in my town. ]: I'd have to get a ride all the way to Oceanside or something. |

Rep Power: 18 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I saw it, the day before my birthday :] When I saw the Japanese version I was horrified. I felt it was cheesy. I hated the choice of actors (Light isn't an orange, round-faced, Chinese social outcast, and Misa's got blond hair). However, seeing the English voices plastered on (quite well, might I add) it made it feel like the anime, which in turn made me feel happy. Also, I saw the 20 minute documentary after the movie, and they showed previews of Death Note: The Last Name with English voices plastered on top, so I feel the sequel is coming as well. And I feel this will be a more recurrent thing, considering the new Bleach movie is being released in theaters next month for two days in English as well. I also don't doubt a small DVD release for this movie, especially considering how much they worked on it. Also, the theater was freaking PACKED. It was hilarious because there was a scene where L was being serious and asking a serious question as he was eating. My friend blurted out loudly after he asked the question and said "Why are you chewing ice cream?" and EVERYONE burst out laughing. The theater was in uproar when Ryuk said "Looks like you're in some deep shit, Light" That was so hilarious. And parts like where the police said "Let's nail that bastard" and when L had tricked Light with the Lind L. Tailor thing, Matsuda yelled out "NICE ONE!" and everyone giggled. lol it was great. There were also scenes that none of us remembered being in the Japanese version, such as a Shiori hospital scene o_O I also bought Death Note 13: How to Read at the bookstore. I HIGHLY recommend you purchase this. It's a thick book with interviews, summaries, analysis, FAQ, etc. all answered by the creators of Death Note, as well as concept art and what the manga panels looked like in pre-correction phases, as well as including the Death Note pilot. It explained a lot of fascinating questions about the Death Note for me. There was in fact a rule they were going to put in the series where if you collected 7 Death Notes, you get a wish of any sort granted. Haha. Also, other funny things such as when Obata-sensei was drawing the characters weekly, he had no idea who would end up dying so he had a hard time drawing concrete and temporary personalities because he was always left in suspense. The scene where he killed Light apparently made him SICK as he was drawing it, and the Yotsuba arc had him nervous because he wasn't told which Yotsuba member was Kira when he drew them. He figured it would be Namikawa, but he was kind of disappointed when he was told it was Higuchi, because he didn't like drawing him XD Interesting pick-up, I read it at work ![]() Though it PISSES ME OFF that it was the only copy at the bookstore and the True Name L Card was torn out of the holder in the back by some shameful shoplifter >: so I didn't get an L card. But I know his real name :] though it would have been cool to see the original artwork made for the card. I wonder what his full first name is. I know it's L Lawliet, but does L stand for something or is that just his whole first name? Odd. Lyle Lawliet or something I'd suspect. Last edited by Dogenzaka; 05/23/08 at 09:35 PM. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | XDXD I saw the movie and it was AWESOME!!!! Some dub acting from the movie was a little funny, but for me it felt like the real anime though X3 The thing I really liked about the movie was the quote that Ryuk said that was the most funniest thing that made everyone burst into dying laughter Ryuk: " Looks like you're in some deep shit, Light. " I NEVER heard him say somrthing like that before it was perfect, fitted his character well X3 Oh and I think the tickets were 12 to 15 bucks I think, my friend bought them online for 24$ |

However, I liked the movie's voices MUCH better than anything from the anime. It just sounded more real with real actors. | ||
