An L movie, that is going to be SOOOO awsome, If someone ever subs it.

2 episodes left, I'm not even going to be home to see the last one subbed (is very depressed).

Anywhoo: I think that the first arc is much better, (And not just because of L)

Lights plans in the first arc always made me smack my head and be all OMG THAT WAS SO SMART. But in the second arc, there arent any smart plans, (not really anyway... By light) and Near and Mello are pulling me back and forth, one day i like near and hate mello, but then when you realise that Near is sadistic and Mello is just trying to be the best i like mello more.

And then there isnt any cute or funny scenes to lift the depressing atmosphere... I love all the darkness, but scenes like L and Light fighting with handcuffs made this Manga/Anime rounded.

Hey Fei-Fei!!!!!!!

I would have to agree with you!!!!!!!! The first arc is the best. But, Light still thinks of smart plans. What about the fake death note, and the five sheets ripped out? And he knows what Near in doing, and has a plan for him!!!!!!

Yea, Light does have a smart plan and for those who have read the manga, you'd know that he's actually one step ahead of Near right now.

What's with you thinking that there should be some cute and bubbly elements thrown into a serious atmosphere? While I do agree that the first arc is much, much better than the second, the L and Light fight scene wasn't supposed to make it "light-hearted," either. Light, before excuting his master plan, manipulated himself into making himself act like he was frustrated at the accusions directed at him by L. The "handcuff fight" further convinced the surrounding characters that that's what he was feeling.

First arc > second arc

I'm pretty sure that's the conclusion that everyone has come to by now.

Pretty much I too also love the first arc and all the ownage that Light and L went through. I also finally watched the anime series up to the recent one. They didn't have to rush the story but I may have to agree what with all the talking a whole and shorting it. I just hope the ending for Death Note can be a little better than the manga except for...
Light's insanitity to his demise! MWHHAAA!!
...also I think they should show L's spirit at least for a split second looking at Light. Just my thoughts. Just three more episodes left

Wow, this is compleetly and totally random but its something i noticed today...

I was re-reading book 7 (the end of the first ark and the begining of the second) and there's a page where it says "The world is turning toward a dark era where kira is law" or something to that affect, and its a picture of the NYC skyline, with the twin towers, after a bit of reaserch i discovered this manga was started in 2003, after they fell down, and at that point of the story it was 2009 anyway.

I have two theories:

They had no idea that they were drawing something that no longer existed
OR
THey were rewriting recent history, because of Kira the terrorist attack never took place...

Anyone else have a theory?

and regarding a past comment, no i dont want a light hearted fluffy manga, if i wanted that i wouldnt read Death Note. I happen to have loved that scene because i found it ironic and funny. Admit it, that scene made you laugh/smile/

Anyone know about the
LaDIES
meme? I hated the ending for death note in the manga. I would have loved for Kira to win. So selfless he was...

Kira? Selfless? Well, maybe in the begining, but think about it:

Light wanted to create "His perfect World" for Him to live in. He wouldnt half his life span and killed anyone in his way.

I think that it's because Light killed all the known terrorists before they attacked. That makes a lot more sense than they just messed up and forgot that the towers no longer existed.

Episode 35... was interesting. Disappointed in the fact that Matt made such a brief appearance, but hey, life is cruel. ._.

Felt so sorry for Takada at this point though. She was so genuinely scared, and Light betrayed her trust. ._.

Maybe after Light's plan was revealed, yes. Otherwise, no, not really.

Hmmm....
... it's sad that Takada was portrayed more smart, intellectual(sp?), and overall better than Misa as Light/Kira's partner, but in the end her trust and admiration of Kira is what got her killed. And in the end, she was no better than Misa, just another blind follower who stupidly thought Kira as a some kind of God.
Ep 35... It was good, finally, the loser got shot down (sorry, i HATED takada) Now to find it with subtitles so i can understand everything.

(I watch each episode three times to make sure i didn't miss anything. Raw, then SUB, then Raw again)

Anywhoo, I totally agree, Takada was a total blind follower, and was no better then Misa, Light didnt like her anymore then he liked misa (which is hardly at all).

I read an interview with the artist/writer: They kept saying that the series isnt supposed to be anything more then it is and theres no need to annalyze it... But I love annalyzing the covers.

From Kuro-Hana subs:

Quote:
Sad news to inform all off our watchers for Death Note.

We have just received a C&D(Cease and Desist) from VIZ Media stating for us to stop all distribution of Death Note by 22nd June 2007.
(This letter has also been served to Animanda, c1anime? & Several Death Note fan sites.)

As most of you know we have been subbing Death Note since it got licensed back at episode 12, starting from ANFS and working our way to Kuro-Hana.

We have decided to stop subbing/distributing Death Note by the 22nd of June.

Death Note 36/37 MIGHT be done by us, depending on how we go about this, if not, expect to see another group rise up.

Just when the final episodes are about to be aired! I hate Viz.
