I saw 33, they kinda screwed up my second favorite funny scene in the series (Takada and Misa's dinner) with the music and the dialouge change... but it was still as famazing as ever!

Yeah, unfortunately so. They must be cutting a lot of stuff out or making it shorter, because the latest episode is where Volume 11 picks up. So in other words, they are fitting two volumes into 4 or so episodes. Sounds like a lot of editing to me.

I have yet to watch Ep.33 but I will soon. The sad thing is that, with reading the book and then watching the episodes, you lose some of your excitement because you already know what's going to happen. Although that one episode, with the bells ringing and L and Raito standing in the rain and the scene following afterwards caught me by surprise!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm worried about how they're going to put one/two volumes in about four episodes. The others have been spaced out pretty evenly!!!!!!!!

I saw the English trailer and I want to pull my hair out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, Light's voice is so....so.......so......ugh, for lack of better words, immature!!!!!!! But the bright side is that the Japanese version is legally going to be put up for download in a couple of months. So, all in all, I will give the english version a try but I doubt I will ever feel comfortable with it!!!!!

anywhoo. I already know whats going to happen (I'm a spoiler whore) but its still exiting, I've read up to book 11 (and i own 7,8,and 10) but book 12 isnt out till july. Idk, the anime is really exiting for me because i want to see what happens with my own eyes! What I'm really exited for is book 13 in America! I've heard alot about it, and i really want to see L-Kuns profile!

Well, Usually they do about 3 episodes or so per novel, but book 12 (from what i've heard) most of it will be one episode. (they have to do the rest of 11, and book 12, although i think they might add some of the stuff from 13 into it) because of the light vs near and mello face off is not a very long scene (from what i've heard)

I think lights death is the first moment from when he gets the death note when he realises that he really is just a mortal. It shows how deep he was in...

To me Sayu and Misa were the innocents of the story. I hated Mello for a couple of weeks after all that happened to Sayu - they just had to go and ruin her life! And then there's Misa. Even though I really hated her all she wanted was for Light to love her in the end and well...I can't say any more because of the darn spoliers. XD

Back on the trailer I just listened to L's voice....WTM? =O. That is not L-ish sounding at all! That sounds like the 'leave-me-alone-before-I-open-a-can-of-kick-butt-on-you-because-I-have-an-angesty-past-and-bad-attitude" voice.

Uh, again, the dub is actually quite good. Light gives off more than enough emotion in his like ten seconds of speech, and the tone fits his character quite nicely. I really don't get how you can bitch about a character that sounds exactly like he should, a typical teenager.

Remember, the insanity comes later on in the story.

True; I was thinking about this at work earlier. The more I listen to the new voice, the better it begins to sound. Hopefully, he can pull off said insanity just as well. By the way Dorian, what do you think of L's voice? I don't remember if you commented on him yet. Personally, I think it's a bit too deep.

I'm tempted to hurt myself. These voices are absolutely horrible. That's all there is to it. Yet again, another amazing anime is ruined thanks to English voices. L's voice isn't right AT ALL. God, those voices SUCK. Never will Americans be able to do decent dubs. *cringe*

Anyways, L's voice was being put through a synthesizer. If I remember correctly, the same thing was done in the sub, up until you see L's face for the first time. It does sound too deep, but I'm sure it'll change. Hopefully.

More or less. If you listen to the trailer, there's a part where L's voice doesn't sound scrambled.
