I'm only on book 4. How many are there? Barnes and Nobles seems to only have up to book 5. Ghey.

I have a question. How come everyone keeps calling him Raito? His name's Light.

And also, what does it mean when they say it's spelt in kanji for "moon" but said "light"? o_o;;

You know how "engrish" goes, right, Jaded? Where Japanese people tack Os onto the endings of most words and shift Ls into Rs? Well, although his name reads as Light, they happen to read it as Raito.
Anyways, yeah, only 5 books have been released so far, but I think the series concludes at...12? The last chapted was only recently released, so the final novel may take some time to be published...

I <33333 Death Note. Just bought volume five today.

Anyways, they're making a live action movie. It will PWN. In Japan. because we are probaly never going to get it.

And the series is still going on in Japan, so no one knows when it will end.

I grabbed volume five a while ago, and, you know, I'm starting to get real impatient. You know, with Light still being alive and all >_> Biggest ass of a main character since Alucard...of course, I've never liked having my heroes sadistic and sociopathic.

Anyways, yeah, I love Red Hot Chili Peppers (Especially in Michigan's my personal favorite of their works), but it's still sort of confusing as to why it's being used as the theme...Someone told me it was an allusion to Light and Misa's relationship, and, although that kinda works, it still doesn't seem important enough to be the lead track o_O.

EDIT: Alright, Jaded, it's a accent kinda thing, like how Bush is incapable of saying nuclear. It's just the way that the Japanese pronounce the name that the kanji spells out, ya? As for the Moon/Light thing, the letters are an alternate spelling that can be read as either moon or light...and, you know, Misa's just nuts, so she likes it >_>

But Light's name is English, so they spell it the way a Japanese person would try to say it in english?

I was watching s-cry-d and whenever they break in the middle a japanese man says "s-cry-d" except it sounds more like "scrrried-o". Is that what you mean?

I was listening to that Dani California yesterday on the radio. You guys, that song is really gay. It makes me feel like the movie will be really gay, too. I'm hoping they put emphasis on just the chorus. And you know that part that's like "yeeeahh yeaaah yeeeaaah" >_< Ugh... Well, we'll just see how it turns out. I hope the movie isn't horrible! I wonder how they will do the Shinigami!

I'm only on volume 4, but I've accidently spoiled myself, and I know what L's/Light's fate is.(a friend who keeps up with the japanese version) I'd tell you what it is...but I don't know how to make one of those spoiler boxes....

Hey, Jaded, I gotta say, I really love Dani California, and you really have to hear the whole thing to appreciate it...but still, it's far from the best of the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's works (Californication/Easily/Especially in Michigan ftw >_>).
It's played towards the end of the most recent trailer ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olym0...h=death%20note ), along with a brief flash of Ryuuk...L's in there, as well :D. I'm actually beginning to like how this is coming out, ya?

From the fourth one on the action really escalates, so...you know, when you pick them up, enjoy them, or whatever.
