Her character's made out to be such a ditz, but being the second Kira has so much potential.

That's why I felt bad for her. The girl would give her life for him and he pretends to care about her. Not to mention cheat on her. Have you read the last chapter of the manga? It really is kind of depressing, not just for Misa but for a lot of other people too.

I did too.
But really. She was asking for it.
She basically said, "I'll be a complete tool if you be my boyfriend." Something along those lines.
I think she was happy because she fooled herself into believing that her love was requited b/c Light was using her. And that was all she wanted.

Yes, Light's a jerk with a superiority complex and an extremely high IQ. Not to mention he's not above using others to achieve his goals.
So his actions towards Misa aren't surprising. For him to treat her otherwise would be out of character.

But still, my heart went out to Misa. Poor thing.

i thought that the episode on saturday was pretty interesting. but i didn't know his mask was supposed to be a mask of L. maybe i wasn't paying attention the first time. but maybe if mikami actually said the word he was supposed to say, cause in the subs it was translated to "illiminate", it would have been better, i think. and the only thing that i really didn't like was the censorship. like in the opening, who's gonna believe "a hymn to humanity,....etc"? that was just horrible to me, i'm sorry if you disagree. the language was part of the reason it was dramatic.

Uh, he's supposed to say "Delete". It's the same as it is in the manga.

It's not censoring. They wouldn't use it for an opening song if they actually said ****er. It's a combination of the japanese language and the pronunciation the lead singer uses.

Meh, it was her own fault. She basicly threw herself at him, and gave him permission to use her in any ways possible. He could've started raping her, and it would be the greatest thing to ever happen to her.

Perhaps round, virgin eyed Light would've felt bad, but sharp eyed pimp Kira has a whole new world to create.
