So the movie wasn't all that bad, I guess?

But using the original English Anime VAs for it sounds like crap to me. :<

I could never imagine Light's actor with that voice.

Is a DVD release confirmed already or is that just a rumor?

Is the english version online? If, its not half bad I don't mind watching it again.

I don't feel like going to downtown to watch it.

I doubt it's online, as it was only shown twice, at least in English. And it wasn't bad at all, trust me.
Too late to go see it now though XD and considering that a sequel dub is in the works, I'm sure we'll see more of this in the future.

I bought the Volume 7-12 of the manga. Never liked manga before, but now I really like it :] and it accurately explains things I was kind of wtf about in the anime. It's great.

Uh...yeah. Everyone saw L; he's kinda hard to miss.

Also, lol no. There is no room for a sequel, nor is there really much or a way it could be any better. So really, there is no need for it other than shitty fanservice, which is more than compensated for by LightxL fangirls on deviantArt.

Well maybe not a sequel, but like maybe something similar to the backround or something

Like maybe Death Note: Rebirth, their would be another Kira and it would go much deeper in for the Shinigami world like who the Shinigami King is and how the DN came in existince or something

IDK That's just my opinion, probably a stupid one XP That's how I am with fantasing about anime and what not XD

I still doubt the plot itself would be able to come close to that of the original. All that info is probably just meant to be left to the fans' imagination.

Yeah your right, but who knows maybe they'll come up with something related to the series or entirely different

Or nothing, you never know what they do with anime these days, in my opinion at least XP

Death note was really really good the first half and the Tail end really was dissappointing, overall i think it was an above average series.

Everyone saw that.
There will be no sequel to the story of Light, as
he is dead of course
. There was a tiny little manga sequel with Near being an adult, but nothing special.

That story of the Death Note is concluded, it however does not eliminate the possibility of a new story of the Death Note being made with a new plot/characters. However, if that happens, it will most likely ruin the epic treasure that is the current Death Note story.

I disagree, and let me tell you why.
At first glance, the second half seems to be inferior to the first half and much too hard to be indulged in. This is however, because of the anime. It squeezes the entire second half into 10 episodes. It left a lot of things out and I really didn't understand the second half very well, therefore I didn't really care for it. I picked up the manga, and it revealed SO MUCH to me that was left out in the anime version, various explanations of things, left out scenes and dialogue, that just made it so much more intellectual and engrossing to me than the first half of the series in the anime. It was much more detailed, and the ending to DN in the manga is far superior to the anime ending in my opinion
Light begs Ryuk to write the SPK/Japanese Task Force's names in the Death Note, and instead he writes Light's. As Light begs to be spared, 40 seconds later he dies.
It would have been better in my opinion, had they made the second half last a bit longer (maybe like 42 episodes in total) so that it could have explained and left in the stuff from the manga, but sadly that did not happen.

That was just a one-shot doujinshi, not an official sequel.

Really? Despite that, I still found the first half of the series to be better. Actually, the two main arcs almost felt like entirely series to me at times. To each his own, I suppose.

Forty-two episodes would have dragged things out far more than it would have needed in order to fit all the things the cut from the second arc. I imagine that four or so more episodes could have been enough to cover it all if they did it right, but it's really not that big I deal in my opinion.
