When Ryuk mentioned Raito going to neither Heaven nor Hell, I figured that refered to all of humanity, not just him or any other user. I mean, never once is the subject of either ethereal kingdom actually existing brought up, you know? It just makes sense that there are only two realms, that of humans and that of Shinigami, and nothing inbetween, it just does o.o.

~_~ Seizures aren't really that funny. But I have to agree that he deserved what he got. He lost his humanity a long time ago. It's really interesting how they twisted it out like that, from a person who only meant for a greater, peaceful society to a cold-blooded killer who was even willing to kill his family.

Really? I thought I was pretty clear.

From what I read during the conclusion, I figured that Ryuk was saying that there was no afterlife for humanity. It may have just been the translation that I used, but that's what his comments seemed to point towards. Plus, although the Shinigami world is constantly brought up, only twice is either heaven or hell mentioned, briefly in the opening and during the closing, as well. You'd figure that if it were to play a part in the fate of the people of the world, it would've garnered a more relevant mentioning, you know?
