It depends on which review you read, a friend of mine went to see it and said it was fantastic, though he'd never actually read the books. Most critics I looked over kind of whined about Raito's lack of temper tantrums (Lind L. Tailor >_>) and the inclusion of Satori, but overall Yagami's still a psychopath, L is perfect for the role, and Ryuk is hilarious, so I'm definatly gonna see it when the film's imported.

Meh. It depends on who directs the movie and who plays who. For some reason, I'd love to see Tim Burton doing this, if only for Jhonny Depp inevitably securing the role of Ryuzuki. Or is he too old? He's definatly odd enough, and funny enough...

Light=...Uh...No one I can think of really fits...
Misa=Er...maybe Carman Electra, or perhaps Kiera Nietly...which I can't spell...again, it's difficult to fill the role of a Japanese person with someone American...

Depp would be a cool Ryuk. Knightly is in no way fit to be Misa. Like I said Hillary Duff would be the perfect Misa-chan!

I mean, even consider the characters she plays. They're all essentially the same. Naive, ditzy, clumsy, perky, and happy! She's got the look and the act. I don't particularlly like H.D. but she'd be perfect for this role, IMO.

Depp is too old to be L. :( I actually can't think of anyone to be L.

Has anyone watched that Lemony Snickets movie? The children were incredibly hawt/adorable, right? (*cough*I'm not a pedophile >__>*cough*) Well, the boy who played the brother must be, what? 16 by now? He'd be good for Light.

Alright, so not perfect... but that's the best I could come up with.
*GASP* What about Ashton Kutcher? Or the little boy (he must be a teen by now!) who played him in The Butter Fly Effect? *gaspy gasp*

Ashton might could be L, but he'd need a lot of work. Keeping his eyes wide at all times must be hard...and I don't know if his voice is right for L...
