they should have gotten hip hop sensation sean kingston to play finnick

Make sure to pick up your copies of The Hunger Games today on DVD! I just finished watching it, and my body is ready for Catching Fire.

Since the movie came out a couple days ago I guess, I suppose I should post in here since I did actually like the movie. I haven't read the books [i guess i'll put a yet here] but yeah, the movie was surprisingly good to me. The only thing I hated about it was the shake cam. I just can't stand shake cam during fight scenes; you might as well just put a cartoonish dust cloud over the frame instead.
Fun fact: This movie somehow sold out at my Walgreens within hours of it being put on the counter at midnight. Apparently one of my customers got stepped on at Wal-mart the release there. Jesus christ.
Got my copy of the movie today and just finished watching it. I actually had ordered the 3 disc blu ray version but got the 2 blu ray disc + 1 DVD disc version instead of which I was pretty annoyed but oh well.
Anyway, I agree about the shake cam. I saw the movie in a cinema for the first time and the silver screen there was just huge, so the shake cam actually gave me a headache. Now after watching the movie on a smaller screen, I still have to say that I don't like it at all. I thought that the reason for choosing the shake cam is fair but still. I didn't like the fight scenes because of it. Hopefully they don't use it in Catching Fire.
When Catnis and Peta were climbing that thing to get away from the dogs, why didn't Kato just push them back down?
Like....
...that was pretty dumb of you, Kato.
And when the gang was trying to get Catnis, but she was up that tree, why didn't they just set the damn tree on fire, instead of making a camp fire 5 feet away from her?
Catnis blowing up that stockpile was quite possibly the only intelligent move in the movie, imo. Not a bad movie though. Despite being a blatant ripoff of Battle Royale.
Hahaha, THEY GOT STEPPED ON? God, this movie is not even close to that good; fans are crazy.
I'm on the fence about if I want to buy it or not. There are some scenes I love, like District 11's rebellion, but there are some I'm still disappointed with because I really loved the books. I'll probably break down and buy it any way.

I've seen the movie 5 times already and loving it, I just finished the Mockingjay and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the ending, first of all Prim dieing and Katniss's mom not coming back or even talking to her. Glad that Peeta came back and had a couple of kids.

I haven't set fire to a living tree before
but I imagine it isn't as easy as lighting a couple dead twigs. they only have so much supplies wise.
Just thought I'd say that.
And yeah, I had no idea people were that crazy. Like, a lady came in at kupoin' 11:45 pm, wide eyed like "DO YOU HAVE THE HUNGER GAMES OUT YET?" "uuuuh" "IT COMES OUT TONIGHT DO YOU HAVE IT" "OH, does it? Let me go check the safe... uuuuuuuuuh"
and then by 8 am, yeah, they were all gone. uou my other managers thought someone lost them.
and to like, kupoing rush into a walmart to get it just seems so kupoing nuts like guys you know there's a thing called the internet right, netflix, blockbuster, something... and... it isn't... selling out or anything. they'll get more.

I got a copy at my grocery store, they had the DVD's in front of the registers, and I was the first one to get a copy at my store I was literally going around and telling everyone LOOK WHAT I GOT! and they all where eye balling me, one of my friends told me to shut up lol. Because she couldn't get it until next month, because she had bills. :D
Uh, I wasn't going to reply to you, but your post just annoyed me. Anyway:
Did you just write this to get a response from us? You deliberately mess up their names and you again say this is a ripoff of Battle Royale. First off, if they set the tree on fire it would probably spread and that would be bad for them, not just Katniss. I can agree with your comment on the Cato part, though.
But on the Battle Royale part: all I can say is that you're trying too hard to get your point across just like you did in the Battle Royale thread a while ago. I'm just gonna say that while the author did possibly borrow aspects from Battle Royale (which isn't really original, by the way), The Hunger Games series was an amazing read and deserves the popularity its getting. Opinions can be opinions, but when you're bantering about a series and criticizing for it being popular when Battle Royale was not, it's more of a fanboy's rant than anything.
If they can start and douse a camp fire, they can light a tree on fire. I realize it's a little destructive and might lead to a forest fire, but way smarter than falling asleep when the plan was to outlast their prey. I'm sure the girl who was stung to death would have preferred it haha.
No, those were my legitimate complaints with the writing. And how am I trying too hard to make a point when it's one sentence set at the smallest possible font size? I'm over that argument, but when those kids were raised up to the battle field the only thing missing were explosive collars. But it was a really well shot scene, so it's whatever. As for the names...I was being silly, because their names are silly. Calm your shit lol. Maybe I'll just replace "Peeta" with pictures of the PETA logo next time.
Am I not allowed to criticize someone's jump in character logic without being accused of being a fanboy? I even said it was a good movie, damn.
