so i just finished season 2

i've never read the books but i really liked the ending. the scenes with jon snow and daenerys in the second season were really slow but i like where things left off in the finale. the last scenes in qarth and across the wall were really good because it sent home the message that it doesn't matter who sits atop the iron throne because, unless everyone in westeros stops plotting against each other, they're all going to be kupoed either way, whether it's by dany and her dragons or the white walkers (or both).

also as much as i love joffrey i feel like he's gotta get killed soon. not that i want that, because it's great watching him abuse his power, but i can't see the plot going much further if joffrey isn't somehow killed off soon. believe me, i'm hoping it doesn't happen, but it probably will. how soon? i don't know. i'm guessing within the next couple seasons. and the day joffrey baratheon dies is the day i stop watching this shit.

really good show though. it's up there with homeland and breaking bad as my favorite series right now.

I think Joffrey's funny. He's such a little diddlying asshole that everything he does is comedic because nobody takes him seriously apart from the vulnerable and even only then it's because he's got the manpower to turn threat into promise. That scene he had with Renly's queen was absolutely hilarious.

"But Your Grace, the high council has decided that..."

"Oh, go on then."

No real spoilers unless you haven't read A Clash of Kings. They just showed the characters in it for Season 3 that they hadn't been able to "fit" into Season 2. Season 3 you could look as tying together the loose ends of Season 2 and preparing for Season 4.

Iwan Rheon ( Simon from Misfits for those who don't know) has just been cast for Season 3 of Game of Thrones which premieres March 31st.

Ugh Winter is a long way off.
