ahhhhh same i'm so pumped.
i feel the same way whenever someone says they didn't read gatsby. it's not that i'm super pretentious about reading for english, it's just...the book is short, and damn good. how can you not?
i've read some of her poetry and i love it. how's her novel writing?
I finally got around to picking up Let Me In by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
I'm hopelessly addicted. I've deliberately avoided seeing either of the film adaptions so I could read it without any preconceptions and I think it has paid off tremendously. I haven't been this involved in a novel in a long time. <3
I just started Fyodor Dostoevsky's Demons today, and it's surprisingly funny thus far.
It's been a while since I read any Dostoevsky; I think I'm going to enjoy this book quite a bit.
In addition to Demons, I also purchased a collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short stories--which will also be fun, methinks.
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. As can be expected, it's a rather enjoyable read.
I did not feel like reading any of the books that I have already started (what is it with me and not finishing the books that I have started reading) so I bought and started George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones. I have wanted to read the ASOIAF series for quite a while now when I realized that I actually miss quite a lot by following only the TV series.
I hesitated starting the series because I was slightly afraid that it is slow to read and in a sense complex but at least based on the first ~160 pages that I have read already, my fears were quite futile. I'm really enjoying the book and it actually has me hooked which is quite unusual nowadays.
^ Good choice. Great book.
Still on Weaveworld by Clive Barker but I'll be damned if I don't finish it! Also plodding my way through the Tanakh as well as GoT. In the meantime I read Glen Duncan's novel I, Lucifer which was interesting if not a little boring. Finally finished KH1 volume 2 manga. I'm sooo tempted to start Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris to continue on with the Sookie Stackhouse books but must. finish. Weaveworld first!

i've actually been reading a couple books XD
So I finished Let Me In a couple of days ago and pretty much couldn't stand that it was over. Definitely a favorite.
Trying to get through Ursula K. Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness for a second time, but I'm intermittently jumping around a reader for Anais Nin and sandwiching my brain between those two is doing really strange things to me.
I began reading The Pearl a little while ago. John Steinbeck's got such a great sense of description, I can't get over how close I feel to his stories. Paying for books seems to be just as silly as paying for music, so I'm left to ask, what books have you guys been pirating lately? I just picked up the neuromancer, it should be a fascinating read. Oh and I also picked up Dune to start.
