I saw this during my venture to Waterstones; was going to pick it up but I'm not quite ready for anything Lovecraftian at the moment. Elected Kafka instead.
Isn't that supposed to be his best work? Orion sent me Neverwhere, American Gods and Anansi Boys. Neverwhere was all right, nothing too special for me, so I'm kind of worried: if everyone likes Neverwhere and everyone likes American Gods, will I dislike AG? Hm. It's on my shelf, though.
I'm still on Weaveworld but it's worth mentioning that I'm also making my way through Game of Thrones aaand the JPS Hebrew-English Tanakh. I have the King James Holy Bible and hopefully I can jack my housemate's Qur'an when I move out. HOPEFULLY. D:

The Always War by Magaret Peterson Haddix
aw, margaret haddix! that's a familiar name :)
i'm still working my way through to the lighthouse, i love the characters and the references to classic poetry. my favorite so far is lily briscoe.
that's a really influential book, i hope you listened during discussions! it's sure to come up again. when we did heart of darkness in humanities we actually read an essay by chinua achebe arguing that it (HoD, not TFA) was a wholly racist novel, which was interesting.
that's a great area to be reading in! try brave new world if you haven't already, or house of leaves or american psycho (if you're feeling particularly adventurous). If anyone has any recommendations for good books I'd be happy to hear about some. I usually into the well-written fantasy, psychological horror and dystopian novels
