Rep Power: 3 ![]() | As you already should know, it is the one of the newest and most famous manga in Shounen Jump. Right now, along with Code Breaker, it is my favorite! I know that a lot of you will say that it is a little slow, but if you have read the latest chapters, you can't wait for more! This week was Call 35. Have you read it?! It was as epic and awesome as always! They found a video tape, which was video taped by Uncle, and it shows the future of the present Japan, or the past of the future Japan! Whenever you like! And those W.I.S.E. guys appeared in Tokyo and destroyed a big building, killing many people, but Uncle was rescued. Guess by who?! I won't tell! I don't want to spoiler! And for the noobs (although I highly doubt that there exist), here is the story. Plot One day while heading home, Ageha Yoshina, a high-schooler who helps people with their problems for 10,000 yen, finds a public pay phone ringing by itself. He picks it up, receiving no answer except a calling card with the word "Psyren" printed on it. After Sakurako Amamiya, a girl in Yoshina's class, disappears after mentioning "Psyren", Ageha uses the calling card in hopes of finding the whereabouts of his classmate, despite being warned not to get involved, and after answering a long and detailed quiz, he is asked if he wants to go to Psyren. Furiously pressing "no," he storms out of the payphone. The next day, two men manage to find out about Ageha and his Psyren card. While on pursuit, he receives a call which gets louder and louder by the second. As he answers the phone, he is immediately drawn into the world of Psyren; a vast wasteland with wrecked buildings and payphones which are used starting and ending points. A world which is inhabited by monsters called Tavoo. A world where players must fight to survive. As a result of being in Psyren, they unblock limiters in their brain which gives them paranormal powers, called PSI. Btw, I have read it three times from the beginning, and I plan reading it one more! Anyway. What are your predictions of the next chapter? Discuss here! ![]() Last edited by Wasilis; 08/26/08 at 05:01 PM. |

| RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA RUMBA | It sounds like WEWY mixed with The Matrix. Regardless, I might give this a read when it's on this side of the world |

| Being mellow | Sorry for the double post. Okay so I read all the chapters and so far, its interesting. In the begining, it had that Gantz feel to it but later, it slowly starts to move away from Gantz. Right now my favorite character is Oboro Mochizuki. As for the current story, slowly we're getting the answers on why Japan is destroyed in the future. I was surrprised on who I saw at the end of the chapter. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Duo_forbidden, you read it? Now, I'm not the only one who knows the story. Now let's talk. ![]() My favorite character is Dragon. I like his dragon abilities (the hand of dragon, the tail of dragon etc). But, I completely dislike Ageha, especially his ability, Melchsee's Door (or whatever it is called). You know, the black hole. And you know, that Oboro's abiity is copy or something like that? He is awesome too. In fact, everyone is awesome. The girl and the other dude as well! >.< And yeah, the kids are fighting against the W.I.S.E. Creepy. I wonder how the battle will end (although I know ). Finally, the only thing I don't like about Psyren, is that they drug chapters a little and the story unfolds a little slowly. EDIT: I MISTAKE'D TATSUO FOR DRAGON!!! >,< Last edited by Wasilis; 08/29/08 at 03:08 PM. |
