I don't think it was a bad game, I enjoyed the storyline I am a huge Roxas fan.
^the fantastic..Superb^

I think it was a good game. A good side game for Roxas. It was a good plot, not on the same level as say KH, KH2, or BbS. but still good. good gameplay/graphics for the DS. And I think the box art is the best one yet so yeah.

It could've been alot better. I wish Nomura had stuck to his original idea for Days, I think I would've hated the game alot less if he did. Re:Coded made me feel like getting a DS wasn't a waste after all. I enjoyed Re:Coded a hell of a lot more than Days. I'd rather play a KH game with a small/not-really-there-but-is storyline than one with a forced sob story, any day. > >

See while I agree it was forced, and I'll admit I didn't personally feel sad at the story, what I liked was the development of Roxas from the blandest being in the universe to one who was actually capable of love and sorrow. Plus it also reemphasized the human qualities the Axel had which was, ithought, very emotional.
Yes! I just thought the mix of all the characters involved blending in with the colors and backgrounds of each was awesome. And there is no better drawing of roxas.

Yes, days sucked in my opinion. It's the only game i've ever played that I never finished. And I've played some shitty games
The original idea was one mission per day, you think that's a whole lot better?
I don't think it was a forced sob story, in fact, I find it to have a quite slow story pacing compared to the rest of the game (Which makes sense in-universe)
Nevertheless, I find Days to be quite enjoyable, both in terms of gameplay and in story. While the gameplay can be repetitive, I still find thrill in doing the missions. Honestly, the mission-based gameplay wasn't that bad. Especially the key (compulsory) missions. Most of the repetitiveness for me came from the optional missions. However, the compulsory ones often introduce something new to mix it up a little (Playing hard to get at Beast's Castle, Searching for the Phantomtail at Neverland).
The story was also my favorite. Even when not much of the pasts of the ORGXIII members were revealed, their personalities were expanded throughout the story, even in little talks with Roxas or confrontations with each other. The introduction of Xion did not seem jarring towards the story. She didn't seem like a Mary Sue, in fact, more of a deconstruction of one, and the story still focuses on Roxas' slow development into his KH2 persona, while still maintaining that Xion is a pivotal character.
I think people were expecting too much out of this game. The DS has its limitations and trying to get a KH DS Game that is high tier is like expecting PS3 graphics out of a PS2. And you know what? I think it did the job of doing as much as possible with the DS well. Its just that Re:Coded does that better.![]()

True the graphics and battle system were better with Re:Coded, but that's all it did better, I honestly. Feel like most of the time in Re:Coded, I was barely playing a KH game, it seems so random playing thru it and not getting the feeling of a KH game using magic rather than technology lol

I think I can sum up how everyone feels very easily.
Gameplay: less than you would hope
Storyline: amazing!!!
While you would play most KH games for both gameplay AND story you should pretty much only play 358/2 Days for the storyline it holds which is a really freaking good storyline.

only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
A coat of gold, a coat of red, the lion still has claws.
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, the Lord of Castamere;
but now the rains weep o'er his halls with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his halls and not a soul to hear.

^^^ In a nutshell! Nice one man.

Dude think about what just said. The build up is less important than the ending? That's like saying the only important part of Day is When Roxas and Riku fight, or like the only important part of CoM is Sora going to sleep it the pod. The way they get their is just or even more important than the ending. Just saying.the only important parts of RE:coded were the end and secret video.
Spoiler: How Days came to be by Goldy

Actually, it wasn't really needed to build it up to there, technically, and in Days and CoM, important plot relevant things happen in the course as well. In ReCoded, Sora forgets everything after he saves the journal world, then he goes to the Castle and finaly talks to Namine in the end about important stuff. It's practically unconnected to the rest of the game, if not for mentions about how Namine had bugged the journal and Sora saved it. All the plot relevance from that game is supposedly what Data Namine reveals.
Unless the other Riku is Data Riku or something.
I might be wrong, though, that's just how I see it.

Overall Days wasn't a bad game it just kinda lagged when concering the repitive gamplay and sometimes dubious (if not slighty crappy) graphics, but it was an early DS game, so what can you expect?
Plot-wise I found it rather touching. Filling all those little gaps about how Roxas came to join the Organisation and why he ultimately left, befriending Axel, Xion's suprising influence over future events (ie Roxas) and of course the infamous "ice cream" line. I understand the potency of that line, but still, it was an "unusual" line to say at that moment. XD
Plot: 9/10
Gameplay:5/10
