Question The touching the sad and the anticlimactic

Ok I just beat the game and I was thinking about the whole Xion death crystilization and I was like that is so sad plus no one but Sora will remember her and even he wont really remember her. Well anyway I was like it's kind of anticlimactic close to the end because he is like Xion but who will I have ice cream with. And while it was still very touching I thought it was just kind of weird. Did you

I found her death really sad, but I cant help but admit that the English version was a little bit too cheesy. But it was still touching...

This should really really belong in spoilers section.

The ice cream line was stupid. In Japanese it sounded nowhere as stupid.

Spoilers
I was sad that she had to go, though. I'm blaming Xemnas. And Roxas. And Axel. And Namine. All their fault. Maybe a bit of Riku too.

I have to admit, the Ice Cream Line was cheesy, but that's how it is with dubs >.>
Spoilers
As for her death it was pretty sad....but she did what she thought was right....It was inevitable.

I honestly felt the whole sadness felt anticlimactic when you then followed it by the very easy Riku fight.

In the Japanese version, Roxas said:
"Let's eat ice cream together again, the three of us."
But in the English version, he says:
"Who else will I have ice cream with?"

The English version kinda screwed it up. :I

Hell yeah it did! I was like WHAT?!

I was almost more upset that they ruined it then the actual death.

Come on! I know the English version of that line was terrible, but the Japanese one wasn't great either. What about just something like 'No! Xion! Don't leave me!' or if they needed to make it clear that Roxas suddeny remembered Xion, he could have said 'Remember our times on the clock tower?'
Just mentioning ice cream ruined the moment.

I have to agree. When Roxas said "But who will I have ice-cream with?" it totally killed the scene. Just the way that he said it, and the fact that there were way more important things to say, made it so.

It is sad though, I must say, that Xion will never exist and that no one will remember her. Namine got the same treatment through Sora after he went to sleep, so the same thing will happen to Xion. Though it is true, the memories they created while Xion was present will always reside somewhere deep inside Sora and everyone else who had interactions with her, they will probably never come to surface.

The trio's entire relationship was based around those ice-cream meetings. I don't see what the big deal is.

Yeah the first time i saw the scene i thought it totally ruined it but i strangely couldnt stop watching the scene over and over in theater mode because it was so sad

But think about it - Roxas thought friends were people you ate ice cream with so he was pretty much saying 'your my only friend, dont leave me' - before you mention Axel please remember that he did kind of ignore Roxas and seemed pretty 'mean' or evil towards the end.

And it goes to show just how much he cherishes something so trivial and small.

I think it is sort of touching how much he cherished something so unimportant seeming to the rest of us and have not much of a problem with it even though the japanese line was WAY less cheezy. I though the death was a little sad but not the saddest part in the game

I think what they were going for would be hard to convey, ice cream or no. The idea that Roxas' only desire is something so trivial, and he can't even have that is really sad... but the triviality itself makes it hard to take any line intended to convey that seriously.
