Plot Holes?

I'm not sure if this is a plot hole (one of the many I noticed) or I just missed something.

In KH II, DiZ asks Riku (in Ansem's form) "who are you?" or something like that. And Riku responds with, "Ansem." Of course Diz (Ansem the Wise) laughs.

Now why would he ask if he already knew Riku all through 358/2 Days? I know at the end Riku turned around and put his hood on before DiZ could see his face as Xehanort's heartless, but would that make a difference in the grand scheme of things?

So am I missing or forgetting something, did I get the story mixed up, is there some sort of symbolism involved, or is this in fact a plot hole?

Hmm... I'm not sure. The timeline's so hard to keep up on... >.<

It may have some Symbolism involved for the fact Riku was starting to give up by that time. Not on Sora, but himself and the odds of him ever being himself again.

Prettu sure it just had to deal with the fact that he was now referring to himself as Ansem is all, besides we already knew Ansem and Riku knew eachother before KH2 I mean Ansem said so himself to Mickey and mentioned it in the Secret Ansem Reports.....

Also what other plot hoes? I didn't see any...

Eh, Riku was losing himself to Ansem, so the real Ansem asked him to see if it was still Riku in there or if Xehanort's Heartless/Ansem had taken over... That or something more like if Xehanort's Heartless had begun to corrupt Riku's memory and thus make him more into what he wasn't supposed to be. :\

I think we can sum up that Riku kept himself hooded at all times after his fight with Roxas. Hence the question was appropriate.

So you're telling me DiZ thought he was walking around with some stranger the whole time in KH II that knew what Riku knew and did the work that Riku did?

Nah, he knew it was Riku I'm pretty sure. Just not sure why he asked.

I didn't mean it in the sense he didn't know it was Riku. I meant it in the sense the action merited inquiry from Diz's side. And seeing how Riku was hiding his face, he called his 'identity' into question. Especially since he wasn't asking him who he was, but rather - his "true name".
