Default GameTrailers' 358/2 Video Review
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Video Game, Review | Game Trailers & Videos | GameTrailers.com

Confirms everything I thought about the game.
Anxious to try this one out :P

The main gripes was the lack of anything new, almost no new music, no new worlds, nothing really new about it (well, because it's a plot retread).
But that's about all the issues. Gameplay is spot on, apparently.

wow, this game is going to be amazing =] platforming, choosing where you want to do when, a story that actually explains all the convulutedness leading up to KH2

hot dawg, this game looks so much better in the eyes of Gametrailers.com XD just kidding, still picking it up. just some things that I don't like about the game is the panels, I hope they explai nit.

I really liked this review. It got down basically all of the stuff I disliked, while still not treating it like a complete piece of poop.

mm, I can't blame them fully. The whole game seems to be fanservice, which applies to us greatly, but not so much for general gamers.

I presume you're also disappointed by the 7.6 for the story. If so, I'll just let you know that it's pretty much a standard for gametrailers when reviewing this type of game. Ideally, they'd like every sequel/midquel/whateverquel to spend time catching up new players onto the story. It's complete bull to criticize an installment to a franchise because it picks up from where it's supposed to.

They did the same thing with MGS4. They complained about one of the most amazing additions to a series' plot I've ever seen because it's too 'convoluted' and it's hard for someone new to pick it up. You'd think the '4' in the title would be enough for a person to think that maybe they should play the other games first.

In any case, don't be discouraged. They tend to be pricks when it comes to plots.

Ultimately, this trailer gave me the impression that I should probably just rent the game instead. I'm questioning whether it's worth $40 for someone like me. What I mean to say is that as much as I appreciate all the work that's been put into the multi-player function, and as much as I hear the overall gameplay is enjoyable, I'm playing this game for one reason, the plot. I've been wanting to know what the hell is up with Roxas, the organization before KH II, and Xion for 2 years now (as many of us have). So, if this game, aside from that and multi-player, is just rehashed everything, then screw it. I'll rent it, plow through it in a week and be satisfied.

That's like 8/10...that does not equate to a bad game.
But if you really think about it and take off the paopu sunglasses, you might get a small, vague picture of why the game didn't get a perfect score -_-

Here's the thing, everything they complained about in the game, I agree with 100%. It's by no means a perfect game. A fun one? Sure. Does it deserve GOTY? Far from it.

That's why I like GameTrailers reviews. Sure the community are a bunch dicks, but the staff knows how to do their job, and they do it good. I've been purchasing games based on their reviews, and not ONCE, have they been wrong about a game for me. And 358/2 is just another prime example of it.

Eh, I feel a little stupid right now.
I thought you meant the reviewer. I don't know shit about the VAs. D:

But on a side note, the quality of the audio seems so much higher than that of the video, if those were the original cutscenes shown in the review.

The poor compression of the video will be quite a pain in the ass, though. Kinda messes with the immersion a little bit.
